Puppy Love

Good Morning!  Happy Tuesday!

Look at this fabulous inspirational photo:

Is that not the most adorable photo ever?

Ahh, young love!  LOL

This week we have 3 incredible sponsors!

Prizes:  - $10 Gift Certificate
-  10% off Order

Prize:  2 Templates

Prize:  3 Digis

Here is my card using

"Puppy Love" Digi
from
Limited Runs

SPIES:
STAMPS: Puppy Image (Limited Runs); Sentiment inside envelope (Taylored Expressions); Date on heart (Recollections).
PAPER: White, red and cotton candy cardstock. DP - Sweetheart (Doodlebug Design).
INK: Lady Bug Red (Memento); Copics.
EXTRAS:  Postage Die (Simon Says); Thin heart (Provo Craft); Brown DP heart (Taylored Expressions Die); Pink scallop heart - (Fiskars punch); Red baker's twine; Stickles; Red heart button; Red heart gem; Red heart sequins.

I made it fairly simple because I wanted the puppy to be the focal point. Such a cutie!  I loved putting him together.  The envelope is actually blank on the digi.  I added the sentiment on the envelope with another stamp.  And you can't see it well in the photo, but I "stickled" the hearts above his head.

Be My Valentine

Happy Monday

and

Pink Elephant Day!

This week is a theme challenge:

Happy Valentine's Day

We are down to the wire for completing all those Valentine cards and projects!

Here is my inspirational card:

 SPIES:
STAMPS:  Image (My Favorite Things); Sentiment (Taylored Expressions).
PAPER: Fushcia, white cardstock; DP - homemade patterned paper.
INK: Lady Rose (Memento); Copics.
EXTRAS: Heart punch (EK Success); Label (Taylored Expressions); Plastic heart stickers; pink heart gems.

I did some paper piecing again.  I pieced the dress on the image with the same patterned paper as the foreground paper.  Last week I tried a new technique --- the shaving cream technique.  I love the results I got!  I got about four small rectangles and about four small tags out of it!  I used rainbow colors and so I had a great piece with lots of reds and pinks.  If you haven't tried this technique before, you can see a tutorial here.

 For Following Challenges:

So stop by The Pink Elephant Challenge, check out the other DT projects, leave them some blog luv and then share your Valentines with us!

Valentine Blessings!

Pouring Love

This is the day the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Good Morning!  Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Get ready because...

Today is Cupcake Day- #247!

This week's challenge is a theme:

LOVE!

Here is the photo inspiration also:

 Our sponsor this week is

A Day For Daisies--

PRIZE: $12 Gift Certificate (3 Digital images)

Below is my take on this week's challenge:

SPIES:
STAMPS: Digital Image -Angel Love (A Day for Daisies); Digital Sentiment (Squigglefly).
PAPER: White and Cotton Candy cardstock; DP -- cloud paper -"I {Heart} Summer" (Simple Stories); Pink flower DP - "With Love" (Recollections).
INK: Copics; Sharpie fine marker for faux stitching.
EXTRAS: Photo frame die (Taylored Expressions); Flocking; Liquid Pearls; White heart doily; Pink satin ribbon; Fuzzy pink yarn; Enamel dots;

I thought this angel digi, called Angel Love, was just adorable.  I colored her with Copics, added a little Liquid Pearls to her wings and paper pieced her dress, then fussy cut her so I could pop her out a bit.  The hearts are part of the digital image also, and I printed out several copies of the hearts to cascade them down.  The challenge this week at Twisted Tuesday is to not only show sky on your project but also to feature something that flies.  So, what is more suited for Valentine's week but an angel!

I thought I would use the sky paper inside the photo frame for a kind of spotlight/popped feel.  I did use flocking on a couple of the clouds just to soften things up a bit --- the cloud on the bottom and a cloud in the photo frame.  And I thought it would be interesting to cut up the sentiment to cascade down also.

The finishing touches were adding faux stitching, a heart doily behind the photo frame, a pink satin ribbon and pink fussy yarn bow and some enamel dots.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Now it's your turn!  Make a project to go along with our LOVE theme then link it to Cupcake Inspirations for a chance to be Top Sweetie and winner of a $12 gift certificate from A Day For Daisies.  And don't forget to check out the projects of the rest of the Design Team and leave them some blog luv!

Angel Blessings!

Colorful Journey

TGIF!

I may not work outside the house, but I've never been so happy it's Friday!  Chalking up another "eventful" week here --- 4 days to get a new water heart installed (just plain stupid); car still in repair shop until next week; and this morning while washing my face, heard a "drip" --- pipe leaking under sink and then my bank called to say my business debit card is one of those in the most recent compromised ordeal!  hahahaha  In the wise words of Simba on The Lion King --- "I laugh in the face of danger" or rather in this case, in the face of life's mishaps!

But tonight is going to be a FUN night and I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it!  Going out to dinner and a Hurricanes hockey game with the Hubs and the youngest, Ben!

But before I go, here is a card I've neglected to post (I have more that will be neglected until after the game)!

I tried out the "shaving cream technique" that is the challenge over at Technique Time Tuesday this week.   It was a lot of fun and I got a lot of cool background papers out of it!  If you want to see how to do it here is their tutorial.

I thought it would be great to pair with the colorful challenge at Less Is More.

SPIES:
STAMPS: Sentiment - (Fiskars).
PAPER: Glossy specialty cardstock; purple cardstock.
INK: Dylusions Ink
EXTRAS: Shaving cream, ruler, paint brush, ribbon die cut, sequins, heart die (Sizzix Framelit).

FOR FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

So check out that shaving cream technique, it's really cool!

Rainbow Blessings!

Stuck On You

Good Morning!

It's February can you believe it?

LOVE Month!

And Monday plus LOVE means

theres a scrumptious challenge at

The Pink Elephant today!

TPE #235 - INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

This week we have a wonderful photo of inspiration for you

to create lovely Valentines
or
any other project your heart desires!

Look at all those great colors and images!

Chocked full of ideas!

Here is what it inspired me to create:

SPIES:

STAMPS: Postage stamp & arrows (Recollections); Digital Sentiment - I"m afraid I don't remember where I got this sentiment.  I've had it for many years.  I want to say Create with TLC or Whimsy Doodles but not sure.
PAPER: White, teal, cotton candy pink and wax lips red cardstock. Valentine tissue paper (behind suckers); DP-Yours Truly (Pebbles).
INK: Love Letter Red (Momento); Jet Black (Staz On).
EXTRAS: Kraft keepsake pocket (Recollections); Heart punch (EK Success); Heart die (Sizzix Bigz); Scallop rectangle (Spellbinders); Small oval punch (EK Success); Red heart doily; Q-tips for sucker sticks; 3D red heart stickers (Jolee stickers); mini Cellophane bag recycled from purchased craft supply; Red paper twine; Teal enamel dots (Recollections).

My card started with the little cellophane bag of "suckers".  I found this in my stash a couple weeks ago.  I made them last year and then never used them.  I took 3D Jolee heart stickers and glued them on Q-tips (snipped off the cotton ends) and then used a cellophane bag from some other craft embellishment.

I bought the pocket folders last week and it just reminded me of a mailing envelope.  You can't see it very well, but I stuffed Valentine tissue paper behind the suckers and then added a heart cut from patterned paper to add some contrast.  I stamped the arrows going down the one side of the folder and the stamp in the middle.  I was going to add a little bling to the middle of my bow but then decided I didn't want to detract from the heart suckers.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

Now stop by The Pink Elephant and check out all my fellow DT's projects, then link up your own project and share it with us.  We would love to see how we've inspired you this week!

Love-ing Monday Blessings!

SUPER You!

Happy Sunday once again!

I'm finally making some headway,
but unfortunately,
I'm very late to this party!

has been going on since last Tuesday!

I, however, had some technical issues and did not get my card shared with the rest of the Design Team.  :-(   So, here is the inspirational photo being used in the current challenge:

There are 3 great sponsors this week too!  Check them out:

They are offering 4 Digis to one lucky winner!

Stitchy Bear is offering 3 Digis
and you can choose from these 2 Designers:

WhoopsiDaisy is offering 2 sheets of digis

So, as they say, better late than never...therefore, here is my card!

SPIES:
STAMPS: Digital Image "Power of Love" (Stitchy Bear); Sentiment "You Are" (Anna Griffin); Sentiment "Super" (Recollections maybe).
PAPER:  Purple, Wax Lips, White cardstock; DP - Picket Fence (LilyBee Design).
INK: Love Letter (Momento); Jet Black (Staz On); Copics for the image.
EXTRAS: Tag die (Sizzix Framelit); Decorative Oval (Spellbinders); Chat Bubble die (Taylored Expressions); Arrow die (Taylored Expressions); purple baker's twine; Deep red epoxy dot.

I used the digi image, Power of Love, from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet.  He reminds me of the superhero in Disney's Incredibles.  It was so much fun using him!

I've had the 'Super' sentiment for forever it seems.  It is in a set that was one of my first stamp purchases ever.  I thought it went perfect with Mr. Super Love!  hahaha

I'm entering this card into Bugaboo's Stella Says Sketch challenge:

SUPER Sunday Blessings!

Grow With Love ~ CIC #246

A Top Pick for Week Challenge #68
2/09/14

Good Morning!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Groundhog Day
& Happy Superbowl!

If that's not enough to make your Sunday great ----

here's another reason ---

A Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!

This week we are sponsored by

DigiDarla Designs!

Yea!

Stop by their shop and see all their wonderful digis!

They are offering the winner of this week's challenge--

5 Free Digis!

That's a great prized!

This week is a color challenge:

Fuchsia, Cream & Steel

And here is my card using

DigiDarla Designs image, Vinca Vase:

SPIES:

STAMPS: Image - Vinca Vase (DigiDarla Designs); Sentiment (Impression Obsession).
PAPER: White, fuchsia, and grey cardstock; DP - Grey (American Crafts); Pink-Valentines Day (Recollections).
INK: Hampton Art grey ink for sentiment; Copics on digital image.
EXTRAS: Basic circle die (Spellbinders); Quatrefoil cutting plate (Taylored Expressions); Sentiment label Framelit (Sizzix); grey embroidery thread; pink gem; diamond Stickles.

So my week was a little more challenging than I had hoped.  Seems like "Someone's" really challenging my "Be happy no matter what" resolution I've made!  In the first month of 2014, we've had tree limbs smash up the car; one dog diagnosed with inoperable cancer; I was under the weather; the other dog tried to kill our newly adopted cat-producing bruises and scratches on yours truly, cat survived and dog was put in time out (and still there) lol; and now the hot water tank is leaking!  However, I have managed to take it all with a fairly cheerful attitude (except for the one dog's illness and other dog's attempted cat murder).  IF that isn't enough, I had issues with my Big Shot this week and had to just walk away from crafting for a couple days to see if I could sort it out.  It's still giving me issues, but it's better.  Never knew you could use foil and wax paper to help sharpen things up!  Now I know!

So, now I'm pretty much back on track with just one small interruption of the Hubs putting some new furniture into my craft room yesterday.  So now supplies are more strewn everywhere needing to be put in their new proper places!  It's never a dull moment at the Salkeld's!  hahaha

Now on with my card...

My card is more the pinkish fuchsia than the purple fuchsia.  I don't think you can go wrong with either one.  I printed my digital image on white cardstock and then again on patterned paper and fussy cut out the vase from the pattern paper to match my background paper on the card.  I colored my digital image with Copics then added some Diamond Stickles  and  a small grey bow to the vase.

I used a quatrefoil cutting plate for an overlay of my background and then recycled the punched insides of the plate, the flower looking ones, as my border along the large vertical pennant on my card.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Here's hoping February is a much more "Lovely" month in the Salkeld household!  LOL

Sunday, Groundhog Day and Superbowl  Blessings!
