I am using the Paper Sweeties Digital Planner these days, being a newbie to all things planner.  This month's new planner stamps are Checklist.  It has a cute little note stamp and two adorable little dolls with signs.  You could use these in a notes section or you could even use them as a birthday reminder for a specific person and write their name on the sign. Too cute!

The Challenge #72 - You Make A Difference

Monthly Featured Designer -- Patti from Stationary Styles 

I was looking through some homemade backgrounds and came across one I did with alcohol inks in the colors of this week's challenge.  It's pretty abstract.  I did it on acetate paper and then just added some tape on the backside on the colored areas to adhere it to white cardstock.  The sentiments are from the latest Stamp of Approval kit and are created by CAS-ual Fridays.  The "you" is a die.

I followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches to keep the rest of the card easy and the abstract "painting" be the main focal.

Incredible ~ Wonderful ~ Mother

May the 4th Be With You Today!

Just a little punny humor for hump day!


Been working on some cards and realized I needed to post one and now very quickly!  YIKES!


This one is a very CAS card I did using the sketch this week at CAS Colour & Sketch.  I did switch the sketch a bit but hopefully you can tell.  I used die cut words and stamp from Concord & 9th.  I watercolored the background in pink then stamped "mother" in versamark and heat embossed it in gold.  Then just cut the other words in heavy white cardstock once.  Sweet and simple!

I'm still working out my camera and photographing.  My house is just not conducive to nice bright natural light giving all the trees around (got to love NC for all the trees!).  Hopefully I will have my new camera lens in another week or less too, which hopefully will help.

How Beautiful A Day Can Be



Another card tonight - yay!  I've had this Power Poppy digital stamp sitting on my craft table partially painted.  So I finished it up tonight.  I used the colors in Stampin' Royalty's challenge this past week for my inspiration.  I finished the card off with some tulle wrapped around and tied in a knot with a little lavender paper clip around it.

One Cool Dude


Well, I'm finally getting a chance to get some more crafting done.  Now, I know Mother's Day is just six days away, but I got some new "dad" supplies so I have been playing around with them too.

I started with the background, using this new cool coverup die from Lil' Inkers Designs.  It's called "tribal chic".  The "dad" die and banner die are also Lil' Inkers.  The sentiment is from the set, "My Hero", from Clearly Besotted and the glasses are a Paper Smooches die.  The glasses are cut from mirror paper.  They just don't show up silver with my lighting in my photo. I used the sketch from CAS(E)thissketch! and the colors from Color Throwdown.

Here's another pic I took with my Iphone. It's a little better.  


My regular lens on my good camera is busted and I haven't gotten around to getting a new lens so I use my 55-200mm lens and I have to practically stand across the room and zoom it in to get a pic.  So, my phone seems to work better sometimes.

My card ---


I finally bought one of the Stamp of Approval Kits by Catherine Pooler, creator of StampNation and have been itching to use it.  So I used a couple of the sets for this card---
the sentiment, flourish stamp and circle stamp are from Gina K's A Beautiful World set, made exclusively for SOA. The arrows and border stamps are from Catherine Pooler's very own self designed stamp set, Geobuilders. Finally, the butterfly die is by SugarPea Designs for SOA. These stamps are fabulous with endless creative possibilities! I will get a lot of use out of these and the other stamps in the set.

I used the ColorQ color challenge for my colors, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzaz, Night of Navy, and, I had to cheat a bit, I had Tangelo Twist not Tangerine Tango.

 My card took a detour from what I originally planned, but I really like the alternative.  Except, the watercolor background is a bright green, it just looks yellow on camera.
