I decided to continue the birthday theme for the Release Sneak Peek today.  I took the cake sweet cuts from the Happy Cake Day Sweet Cuts and used a technique by Kristie Goulet.  I cut the cake out of masking paper and then stuck the negative of the die on top of some cardstock.  Next I stamped the sentiments in Versamark and embossed with white powder.  Then I sponged distress inks over the embossed sentiments.

The "tag" is one of this month's new sweet cuts, it's really a window, but I used it as a tag here.  I flicked watercolor paint on the "tag" before I cut out the cake die.  I added the scallop sweet cut, from Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts, on the bottom. 
I also stuck with the colors in our Inspiration Challenge this month.

She makes #12 of nieces/nephews for us.  

I'm just overjoyed for my brother and sister-inlaw, Jason and Lauren, nephew Badyn and niece Sophia, on the new addition to their (and our) family!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge - August 2016

Hello Crafters!

I can't believe it's already August!

I also can't believe I'm actually blogging and crafting!  I feel like I've been in a crafting coma lately.  I've been out a lot the past 15 months since my dad passed, helping my mom periodically.  In fact, I've spent the last month moving my mom from WV to SC.  Lots and lots and lots of packing and unpacking, but she's now fairly settled in her new home and half the distance to me as before, which is nice.  Now I can get in some much needed crafty time.

Today is also special for two more reasons--

First, it's the beginning of the month,

Addendum --- I don't know what happened in my photography because the "yellow" is actually a bright olive green color.  Hmmm, must be the background I chose.  It definitely looks better in person.

Here, I switched out one I did with a more neutral background, but that green still looks yellow!  Ugh!
