PKD Thanks

Hello again!

Sharing a special post here.  Some of you know, I have PKD (polycystic kidney disease) along with about 600,000 other Americans, and between 7-15 million worldwide.  I'm lucky, mine is very mild, so I may never need dialysis or a kidney transplant.  Many others are not so lucky.  I have a sister, Jody, not by blood, by PKD.  She has PKD too.  We met online when I shared a thank you card on the PKD website.  I wound up making her a bunch of them to send to people who had donated to her walk.  I gave them to her as part of my donation to the walk.  This year she is walking in two different walks in two different states.  So I made her some more cards  and here they are.

I used stamps by Catherine Pooler - the feather from the Naturally Inspired SOA Collection and the painted "thanks" sentiment by Neat & Tangled from the Beautiful World SOA Collection.  The ribbon die is by Verve Stamps.  The rounded stitched mat is Lil' Inker Designs and the scalloped mat is by WPlus9.  I used Catherine Pooler ink - Aquatini, Lime Rickey and Pixie Dust.  I chose those colors because they are in the PKD logo on their site.

If you would like to donate to PKD, you can go to my team page, Stamp Out PKD where I am raising money and donate there.  If you want to learn more about PKD you can go to the main website here.

Thank You Blessings!

Home is where your story begins

I made two cards for today using the Home is where your story beginsThe first one is for a new neighbor and I got the idea to print out part of a local map to personalize it a little more.

2nd Card ---
I used the sketch at AAA Cards Challenge and color challenge at Sunday Stamps Weekly very fun color combo!

I stamped the house on watercolor paper and colored with Zigs.  I need a tad bit more practice with the Zigs but I like how it turned out.

Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series - October 2017

TGIF!

Happy Friday the 13th!

Friday the 13th in October!  Woooooo!
Are you

superstitious?
I can't be, I have a black cat for the third time in my life! LOL

Well, fear not!
It's the beginning of Paper Sweeties Release Week
so come join us!

First up is showcasing the Plan Your Life Series ---

When I was figuring out what I was going to do for my planner this month, I got inspiration from my outdoor Halloween decor I put up every year.  So, I created a "crashing" witch into a potted pot (above).

You may notice a few smudges, particularly around the 31st.  I got up and walked across my craft room only to turn around and find one of my kittens sitting smack in the middle of my planner!  EEEK!  Thank goodness no real big harm or inky paws.  They seem to loooove paper!  Too bad they don't have opposable thumbs, maybe I could teach them to stamp!  LOL

Visit the rest of the Planner Team and see what they have done.  It's always amazing to see the different ways planners are decorated.

Planner Team:
Come back tomorrow for our Sneak Peeks of this month's new stamp/die sets.

And our monthly Inspirational Challenge is still going on until the end of the month.  Come play with us!

4 Crafty Chicks #372 - FALL

Good Morning, Thursday!

Today is the day for a new challenge
at
4 Crafty Chicks!

I'm your hostess this week.

4CC #372 - FALL

Give us your apples, pumpkins, pumpkin spice whatever, trees, leaves, acorns, woodland critters, sweaters, etc.  Whatever makes you think Fall/Autumn.

For my card I used a tree die by Gina Marie Designs, part of an early birthday gift from my friend, Bonnie Klass when we got together on World Cardmaking Day to craft a little and catch up.  I watercolored the background with Zigs and then used the "leaf" stamps from Hero Arts Color Layering Fall Trees Set using Catherine Pooler Inks.  The sentiment is from the same set. The deer stamp/die is from Hero Arts Color Layering Snowy Tree. I'm not sure I like the deer, he looks a little goofy to me but the Hubs liked it so I left it.

Now go check out my teammates' projects as well as our Guest Designer, Natalie over at the Hen House.
Then link up your fall inspired project in the Inlinkz by Tuesday, October 17 at Noon Mountain Time.

We love to see your creativity!

You're The Bomb!

Happy Sunday!

Today is our daughter-in-law's birthday so I wanted to share the card I made for her...

I used a stencil (Radiating Rays) by My Favorite Things and sponged it with Catherine Pooler ink (It's a Girl and Bellini).  The batwoman image, sentiments and bats are a set by Darcie's Heart & Home. I colored her with Copics.  The cute button face is also from Darcie, coordinates with stamp set.  The stitched scallop frame is from Pretty Pink Posh.

4CC #371 - Easel Cards

Hello!

Good morning, Thursday!
There's a new challenge up at 4 Crafty Chicks today and Leanne is our hostess!

Now, I have to admit I haven't done an easel card in quite a while.  I had to go online again to write down the instructions.  Then, I had the dilemma of what exactly to make.  Usually, I don't have that problem, but my last two, which were actually also my first two easel cards, I did flower bouquets and I wanted to do something different.  I knew I was going to use a word die sentiment for the inside to prop up my easel.  So after about a day of perusing Pinterest for ideas, this is what I finally came up with...

I have to share one more photo because "someone" felt the need to lend a "paw" to the photographing...
Now, go check out Leanne, Lori, and Tamie's projects as well as our new Guest Designer, Natalie, from  "Crafty Natalie's Blog" and welcome her.  She will be guesting all of October!  Welcome Natalie!
