Krafty Chicks Challenge #551 - CAS

Hello there!

Hope you're having a good week.  It's beginning to feel a bit like spring here in central NC. Trees are budding and the pollen is beginning!  It's a southern spring! It's also time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge and Diane is our host.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #551 - CAS - Clean and Simple

I saw a new-to-me technique at CAS Mixup at the beginning of the month and played around with it.  So, I'm combining this DT card with the technique.  I took the cross die and cut it from watercolor paper. Then colored it with my Zig water markers, spritzed it with water and flipped it over on another piece of watercolor paper several times.  The insert of my card is one of those images.  I think it turned out really cool.

Don't forget to stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Chicks' CAS projects. Then get crafty and play along with us.

Irish Rainbows

Good Evening!
☘☘☘☘ Happy St. Patrick's Day! ☘☘☘☘

The soda bread and shepherd's pie were baked and consumed quite heartily this evening along with a wee bit (ok, maybe a WHOLE LOT) of Irish cider. LOL Usually, we go to the neighbor's for a St. Patrick's dinner but since we are still in a pandemic, they've curtailed their annual shenannigans for the second time.  This time last year we had just gone into lockdown.  This year, many are still awaiting for their vaccine.  There's hope for next year.  So I made an Irish dinner for us, all by scratch. I was in the kitchen for a good three hours but it was well worth it.  Then, I remembered I had not posted my card for the Inspired By Challenge. So here it is...

KCC #550 - Christmas

 Good Morning!

It's been a gorgeous Carolina Blue week here in Central, NC with very warm temps to boot!  Of course, I always hold my breath in March when it begins to warm because when the trees begin to bud, that means icky, green-yellow pollen film falls onto EVERYTHING outside and wreaks havoc with allergies.  I already awoke onece this week with an awful sinus headache. It's like a cruel joke, Mother Nature warms us up but makes sure we don't enjoy it too much too soon.  lol

Anyway, it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks and I'm your host this week.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #550 - Christmas

Be sure and check out the rest of the Chicks' projects over at the Hen House.  And come play along this week.  It's never too early to begin Christmas cards for next Christmas!

Holiday Blessings!

KCC #549 - Stamp Act

 Hello there!

March is here!  So far it seems to be coming in like a lamb in North Carolina. It's also Thursday and time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks.  Leanne is our hostess for our stamping challenge.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #549 - Stamp Act

(Must have stamping)

For my card I'm sharing a card I made with my grandpup, Jack. We got the opportunity to dog-sit for him the week of New Year's and I thought it would be cool for his "parents' to get an "I miss you" card from him. I used dye ink and washed his paw off immediately so no harm came to Jack while he "helped" make this card.  I also used sentiment stamps and hearts from Avery Elle.

Go see what Leanne, Lori and Diane have created and also welcome our March Guest, MeSi.  Then, why not come play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

You're Special

Good Evening!

Here's a card for the CAS Mixup Challenge.

I used a Heidi Swapp stencil, inking it up first in Limoncello ink by Catherine Pooler, then applied Versamark through the stencil and it embossed it in a Touch of Lemon Wow embossing glitter for Catherine Pooler.  The sentiment, from Stamplorations, was stamped in Twilight CP ink as were the bees (Stampin' Up).  I die cut white bees from the same stamp set to pop up the bees. I blended some Limoncello on the bee stripes as well.  I popped up the panel with some dark grey cardstock.

Special Blessings!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #547 - CAS {Clean and Simple}

Good Morning!

Hope you are warm and safe wherever you are!  So much of the U.S. is either snowy and icy or rainy and icy this week! North Carolina has a lot of all of the above, depending upon the region.

Anyway, it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks and Diane is our hostess!

My card is pretty clean and simple.  I used a heart stencil for the background, cut out the middle and replaced it with a dark pink heart. On top I added a heart beat die and the sentiment.

Please check out the rest of the team's CAS projects, including our Guest Designer over at the Hen House.  Then come play along and make some quick, CAS cards! We love having you play.

Heart Blessings!

Love and Alcohol

 Happy Saturday Evening!

Love & Alcohol --- not the kind you're thinking.  I created this Valentine  from an alcohol inked glitter background.  Sweet and simple! It is from one of the alcohol inked glitter cardstock I created.  The cardstock was somewhat thin and an iridescent pale blue, I mean VERY pale blue.  I used pink, red and purple alcohol inks on it.  Then I just cut the cover plate (Lil' Inker Designs) from the cardstock as well as a white one to elevate it a bit from the cardbase.  I added a few pearls on each heart for some added interest.  That's it!  You can see all the texture from the paper.  It's very pretty IRL.

Sugar Hearts

Hello again!

I have one card right now to share from my rainbow background blending bonanza! You can see the previous post where I shared all the backgrounds here. I started with the background created with the newest ink collection, Date Night.

As I stated in my previous post, I used a new stencil by Catherine Pooler Designs, the Scribbled Heart Stencil. I applied some Bo Bunny Sugar Glitter Paste after inking the stencil.  I loooove that paste!  It makes everything sooo well, sugary!  I die cut the frame with a rounded corner stitched rectangle die for added interest.

I decided I wanted to keep this the total background so I kept other elements fairly light.  I cut the "love" die from Pucker Up inked cardstock.  I have a very old Valentine stamp set by Recollections that I won't part with.  I love the hearts with various phrases on them.  They remind me of those chalky pastel colored candy hearts with love messages on them.  I inked them up in the Date Night colors also and double backed them for some dimension.

Now I want some candy hearts to snack on!  LOL.

Thank you for stopping by!

Sugar Heart Blessings!

Lots of Rainbow Hearts

 Good Evening!

TGIF!

I'm sharing some backgrounds I made a few weeks ago.  I may have gone a little rainbow happy! LOL I used a new stencil by Catherine Pooler Designs, the Scribbled Heart Stencil.  It was part of the January Release and I bought it along with the new ink collection, Date Night, which was also released last month.  After I created the Date Night background, I decided to go on and create a background out of all the different ink collections from Catherine Pooler.  I may be on a slight rainbow mode presently. 😉🌈

Party Collection- Date Night

Party Collection - Foundations

Party Collection - Life of the Party

Party Collection - Spring Fling

Party Collection - Carnivale

Spa Collection - Paradise Found

Spa Collection - Zen Garden

Spa Collection - Urban Oasis

I've started pulling some of these backgrounds into cards and will share the results in future posts as they come together.  Thanks for stopping by!

Inky Heart Blessings!

How Now Rainbow Cow

Good Afternoon!

I have a post today! <gasp>. I've been creating quite a bit, just haven't taken time to post any of it.  So I'm taking some time today to share some of it.  First off...

Who doesn't like a rainbow cow?

I got this very cool cow stencil by Sweet Poppy Stamps for Christmas by my dear friend, Bonnie, and when I got the new Date Night inks from Catherine Pooler Designs, I just had to ink him up in them.  And of course I had to top him off with a wreath of flowers (flower die by Lil' Inker Designs) and a great encouraging sentiment (Catherine Pooler as well).

Hope this colorful cow brings a smile to your face today, particularly if the weather out your window isn't so bright and cheerful.

Rainbow Cow Blessings!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #545 Stamp Act

 Good morning!

It's Thursday and so it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks.  This week is our stamping challenge.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #545 Stamp Act

(Must have stamping)

I have LOTS of stamping on my card for this week's challenge.  I used a Catherine Pooler Designs background stamp and the two birds are from her as well.  They are a two layer stamp set with outlines and then filling.  The small sentiment is also stamped in Versamark and white embossed.  The sentiment die is also by Catherine Pooler.

I hope you stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the team's stamping projects and welcome our February Guest Designer, Billie! Then, come and stamp with us!

Krafty Chicks Blessings!
