Paper Sweeties March 2017 New Release Sneak Peeks!

Good Morning!

It's Sneak Peeks Day
at

Today is the first look at the
March Release Stamps/Sweet Cuts.

I had a heyday creating with these sets, as you can probably guess by my first photo showing three cards just for today! LOL

I was playing around with the new Paper Sweeties sets and some Oxide Distress Inks that before I knew it I had several bits of several cards constructed and couldn't decide which ones to use, so I decided to put them in sets and use them all! I did the watercolor smooshing technique to create my backgrounds and for the yellow cup in card #2.

For this first card I used the sentiment and the Cup Sweet Cuts from Keep Calm and Drink Coffee Stamp/Die set and the heart border from Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts

The second card I used the stamp and sweet cuts from "Keep Calm and Drink Coffee" also.  I also used the cloud sweet cuts from Let's Go To The Beach Sweet Cuts set to make foam/whip cream on top of the cup. The sentiment is from "You Warm My Heart" stamp set.  The coffee beans are from the new Planner Series Coffee set.

My last card I used the steam die and the same cup stamp/die again (do you think I love this stamp set?).  The sentiment is from "You Warm My Heart".  The hearts are from the inside of the heart border in card #1, from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts.

Hop through the Design Team list below and check out everyone's projects created with these wonderful new sets!

So go hop through the rest of the Planner team's blogs and check out their planners as well.  Then, make sure to come back tomorrow for our Sneak Peeks of the rest of the March Release Stamps/Dies!

Just Us Girls - #384 Stencils

Happy Saturday to All!

It's a brisk one here in North Carolina!
Hoping my bloomed azaleas survive!

We can't complain though because north of us is going to have a near spring blizzard come next week!

So what to do if you find yourself inbound?

How about play along with the new challenge
at

This week Maria has us using STENCILS!

I'm having sooo much fun being the Guest Designer this month! I love using stencils so I had a lot of fun with this challenge.  My only dilemma was which stencil to use.

PAPER: White and kraft cardstock.
INK: Fossilized Amber, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Broken China Oxidized Distress Ink (Tim Holtz)
EXTRAS: Stencil - The Perfect Reason (Stamp of Approval); Spring Flowers Dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Scallop die -Sunshine Layers(WPlus9).

I used the new Oxide Distress inks from Tim Holtz on my card this week.  I looove them!  They are so creamy and blend so easily together!  I sponged them over the stencil onto kraft cardstock, then took a paintbrush and splattered water drops onto the sponged background.  These inks work really well on dark cardstock.  I not only used them with my stencil, but I also blended them on white cardstock and die cut my flowers from it!

If you haven't already, stop by the Just Us Girls blog and check out all the Design Team's wonderful stenciled projects for more inspiration.  Then come get inky and stencily and share your own project with us!

You Did It!

Hello all! Happy Monday!

It's very early Monday.  I can't believe I forgot to post this card, so I'm burning that late hour or early, early hour oil to do so!  LOL

I'm playing with Muse Card Club Challenge today. Michelle Lupton's Muse card inspired me with her design, colors and layout. I used one of the new stamp sets in the latest Stamp of Approval-- Perfect Reason.  I pulled out some of the paisley feather stamps from "Paisley Peacock" and the sentiment from "You Did It" to make my background.  I stamped them on a Pool Party card base. The border die is Stamplorations.

JUGS #383 -Word Week -Geometric

Happy Saturday!

I have a fun announcement ---

I'm Guest Designer
at

for the entire month
of
March!

YAY!
I'm so honored and humbled to have been asked to guest design alongside these fabulous designers!

Today begins my first week
and
here is the challenge:

I love doing geometric cards, even though I don't do them often (need to change that).

I looove that background stamp.  It reminds me of a bike chain/gear, so cool! It's part of the newest Stamp of Approval set by Catherine Pooler and several of the stamps in it were perfect for today's challenge.

Go check out all the fabulous projects by the "JUGS" Designers.   Then come play along with us and create your own geometric project.  It's always great to see how everyone else is inspired!

4CC#340 ~ Green

It's Thursday!

That means it's time for a new challenge
at

Leanne is our hostess this week
and
she's looking for
Green.

Here's my green --
STAMPS: Leaves-(R.S. Tapestry); Dragonfly,"Dragonfly Dreams"-(StampinUp); Sentiment-"Avant Garden" (StampinUp).
PAPER: Olive cardstock.  Neenah Solar White.
INK: Black Onyx (Versafine); Bamboo Leaves (Memento); Pear Tart (Memento); Pear Pizazz (StampinUp); Garden Green (StampinUp).
EXTRAS: Dragonfly die -"Dragonfly Dreams"(StampinUp).

I've had the dragonfly stamp set for about a month now and chomping at the bit to use it and finally did for this challenge.  The leaves and thistles are from R.S. Tapestry, more known for their peg stamps.  My friend, Bonnie Klass, gave me this set and another leaf set for Xmas and I love how it went beautifully with the dragonfly!  R.S. Tapestry is a North Carolina company too, which I didn't know beforehand either.  I stamped the leaves in Bamboo Leaves, stamped off and then back on for the lighter layer.

I love how this turned out, very green and springy!

Check out my teamies beautiful projects over at the Hen House and then link up your own "green" project to share with us.  You might be one of our next Chick Picks!  Woohoo!

4CC#339 ~ Stencils

Happy Thursday!

I can't believe the week has just flown by.

Today there is a new challenge up at

Lori is our hostess
and
her theme is
4CC #339 - Stencils!
STAMPS:  Brushstroke Birthay (My Favorite Things).
PAPER: White card base.
INK: Versamark; White emboss powder; Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Tempting Turquoise, Emerald Envy (Stampin Up).  Don't hold me to these, I forgot to write down what I used.
EXTRAS: Balloon die, Kathryn's Big Wishes (Stamplorations); Bubbles stencil (Stamplorations).

I sponged my background first and then lay the stencil on top then spritzed with water and dabbed a bit with a paper towel to lift some color up.  Then I cut the balloons, also Stamplorations and cut two other balloons to bump up the stenciled ones a little more.  Stamped the sentiment in Versamark then embossed in white.

Now stopped by the Hen House and check out my fellow chickmates' projects, which are fabulous, as always!  Then, go grab a stencil and create a beauty to share with us this week!

Warmth & Care

Happy Monday!

Today is a holiday in the U.S. ---
President's Day.

The Federal government, banks and most schools are closed. So, I've been in my craft room, (with the windows up, in the 70s and sunshine pouring in) playing around. I have a couple quiet weeks coming up before all the chaos of renovating (mostly DIY) descends upon the Salkeld's Sweet Suite for the next few months! I'm using my time wisely trying to get a lot of design team cards done, other special cards done, etc, ahead of time.

I played around with some stencils last week and one of them I used the colors for the Color Throwdown challenge this week and then, I got busy with other cards and almost forgot about it.  Now, I'm just squeezing in before it closes.

STAMPS: Sentiment - Flourishing Phrases I (StampinUp).
PAPER: White cardbase.  Turquoise, Mint (closest thing to sage I had) and kraft cardstock.
INK: Espresso (StampinUp).
EXTRAS: Abstract stencil (My Favorite Things); Succulent plants and vase dies (Spellbinders); heart die (Paper Sweeties); Label die (Reverse Confetti); Stitched oval die (Lil' Inkers Designs).

4CC #338 Charms

Good Morning, again!

My 2nd post of the day ---

It's now time for a new challenge at
4 Crafty Chicks!

Tamie is our hostess and she has picked the theme --

Use a charm on your project this week.

I have to admit, I lack in the charm embellishment category.  I had to dig through several boxes of trinkets to find something worthy for a card.  I found this "love" charm tag, which I have several others with various sentiments on them.  So now I've tucked them away where I can find them to use again.  I cannot take credit for any of the hearts on my card.  My friend, Bonnie Klass, of Stamping with Klass, and fellow Cary-ite, sent them to me with a beautiful valentine card.  We met online  a couple years ago and then discovered we live about 10 minutes a part.  Since then, we've stamped together many times and sharing stamps, dies and company.  These hearts came at the perfect time and were the right touch for my card.  I pretty much designed the card around them.  So, shout out to Bonnie --- THANK YOU for helping with my card!

STAMPS: Sentiment (My Favorite Things)
PAPER:  White card stock. DP
INK: Black Onyx (Versafine)
EXTRAS: Heart dies (from Bonnie Klass); Banner die (Lil' Inker Designs); Stitched scallop border (Avery Elle); Charm (stash), red ribbon (stash).

Now stop over to the Hen House and check out my teamie's "charming" projects and leave them some blog love!  Then get inky and make a project using a charm and share it with us!

Here's my card ---

So was I aiming for a marshmallow bunny by using glitter paper and copper foil wrapped "chocolate" eggs, by using copper foil paper, as I used the color scheme from The Paper Players challenge.  I used copper foil for the flower centers and bow center also.

There's still time to play in our February Inspiration Challenge as well, as it lasts all month!  Come play with us!
