Here's my card ---
STAMPS: Layering Turtle (Hero Arts); Trees (Inkadinkadoo); Sentiment - Sea Sentiments (Your Next Stamp).

EXTRAS:  Turtle die (Hero Arts); Small Banner Dies (Verve Stamps); White emboss powder. Arched banner die (Taylored Expressions).

I  need some more masculine cards so here's another one.  I created the ocean background by stamping a tree stamp with versamark and then white embossed to make coral at the bottom of the ocean.  Then I sponged it with Catherine Pooler Inks and Tim Holtz distress ink.

Be Your Own Kind of Gorgeous

Happy Sunday!

It's a rarity these days for me to post on Sunday.  Usually it's my day with the Hubs, only since he worked last night, he had to sleep part of the day today.  So, I utilized my time wisely...gave Ellie (my granddog) and myself a pedicure, Tarheel style and then I worked on some cards, including finishing up this one.

So, first, here's pics of Ellie "spa-ing" ---
                                .
Now my card ---

Stamps: You are Fabulous - (Hero Arts)
Paper: White cardstock; watercolor paper (Strathmore); gold stripe DSP (from stash); gold cardstock (from stash).
Ink: It's a Girl pink (Catherine Pooler); Black Onyx Versafine; Versamark ink; Copic (for lipstick).
Extras: Gold emboss powder; Scalloped frame dies (Pretty Pink Posh); Eiffel Tower die (My Favorite Things).

I started this card earlier last week and finished it today.  When I saw the Card Concept's challenge this week, I immediately knew I was going to pull out my new purchase of Hero Arts' set, "You Are Fabulous" a tribute to Audrey Hepburn.  I fell in love with it!

I drew mostly on the pink and gold colors in The Card Concept's photo and pulled in the Eiffel Tower, using an old MFT Eiffel Tower die that rarely sees any love.  I had the pink watercolored background sitting on my desk.  I used "It's a Girl" pink dye ink from Catherine Pooler.  I versamarked and gold embossed the crown and fussy cut it to give her a little bling. Then, I stamped and colored the lipstick holder for an added girlie touch.  The layout just evolved as I finished each part so I'd say it falls into the Classy and Elegant style.  I mean, can't get much elegant than Audrey!

Hello Handsome!

Hello again! I've had many posts today so while it may not look like it, my crafting has been hit or miss lately.  One day it's booming, the next one, two or three it's dry as a bone.  Probably it's because we have so much going on right now that my brain is overloaded with "schtuff" and not enough creative mojo on a regular basis. Roof repairs...house repairs...helping our son move...dog sitting for said son...annual doc appts/tests...sick cat...upcoming vacation.   Three weeks until the vacation and  I'm really looking forward to it.  We haven't taken a real true week's long vacation somewhere fun just the two of us since our honeymoon 27 years ago.  I think we're a little overdue.

Anyway, I have managed to get some cards finished, most for design teams but a couple others as well.  I just bought some more new stamps and dies and actually used some of them right away for once!

STAMPS: Parrot and Sentiment - Layering Parrot (Hero Arts).
PAPER: White cardstock (Co'ordinations); Watercolor paper (Strathmore).
INK: Spray Inks (Dylusions); Fiesta Blue, Lime Rickey (Catherine Pooler); Night of Navy (Stampin'Up); Desert Sand (Memento).
EXTRAS: Parrot Die (Hero Arts); Tropical leaf dies (Waffle Flower). Diagonal Stripes Elle-ments die (Avery Elle).

These are all new products.  The hubs loves birds and so I've been trying to add to my bird stamp supply.  Funny thing, I actually was going to make this card a birthday card, but when he saw it, he asked if he could have it.  So, how could I say "no"?  So I had to find a different sentiment.  Since our anniversary is June 9th, I decided to make it an early anniversary card.

The background I had in my stash I had watercolored and I matched it with a background I had made using the shaving cream technique and Dylusions spray inks, which I used to cut out the tropical leaves.

I'm really excited this month because my friend and fellow design teammate, Leanne Elliott, from 4 Crafty Chicks, is our Guest Designer this month!  YAY Leanne!

Here's my creation ---

So I decided to share another version of my card.  I couldn't decide whether to go with sequins or sans sequins.  Lately I've been less bling but the sequined one is growing on me.  I think they have totally different feels to them.  What do you think?

Remember Paper Sweeties' Release Week is June 13-16! Come back and check out all the inspiration we will have created for you to showcase June's stamp and dies!

Mahalo

Happy Hump Day!

It's already Wednesday.  The week is flying by.

I'm squeaking in last minute in the

I've been wanting to play with the tropical set from My Favorite Things and I just got the wave dies from MFT also.  I had the inked up "sun" in my stash and thought it was perfect for this card.  So a quick CAS card for the middle of the week!

I made this card for one of the Hubs' colleagues for her brother's birthday.  She requested a patriotic theme since he was in the military.

Graduation Shaker

Hello again!

Catching up on some posting.  I made a couple graduation cards for my son and daughter inlaw.  My son got his Master's in History and my daugther inlaw got her BA in History two weeks ago.  The hubs and I flew out to Oklahoma to attend the ceremonies and to spend some time with them afterwards.  I am so proud of both of them!  They've worked really hard!  And they're not done yet.  My daughter inlaw is going on to get her Master's and my son is going to be teaching at the university they just graduated while she gets her Master's.  Then my son will go on for his Ph.D. in Sports History once his wife has her Master's.

This is the card I made our daughter-in-law, Helen ---
