Krafty Chicks Challenge #509 - All Occasions

Good Morning!

Well, it's rainy and dreary in Cary.  TS Bertha made a little show in our area in the form of lots of rain.  Today is now #2 of four of forecasted rain and storms.  So what is there to do on a rainy day?...maybe some crafting!
Now onto the task at hand, a new challenge at Krafty Chicks.  Lori is our hostess and our theme this week is our All Occasions challenge.

One of my nieces turned six recently and she loves unicorns so I made her a unicorn card.  The unicorn is by My Favorite Things and the rainbow and cloud dies are by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I created the cloud background using a cloud die as a stencil.

Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Team's All Occasion projects.  It's also the last week for our May Guest Designer, Laurie. So glad to have had her with us!  Come play along with us!

Keeping Christmas - Merriest Wishes

Good Morning!

It's May 25th, which means it's time for the
Keeping Christmas Inspirational BlogHop.

I've been taking the Spring Card Camp 2 at Online Card Classes this month and decided to use one of the techniques and make a Christmas card for this month's blog hop.
I did a masking technique and die cuts.  I cut the ornament dies from masking paper and adhered the negative to cardstock.  Then I blended the ink on each ornament, after which I used some Christmas border stamps and Versafine Black Onyx ink and stamped them on the ornaments.  After peeling off the masking paper, I drew lines with a silver colored pencil, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to a black cardbase.  For the final touch I  added the colored enamel dots.

Be sure and hop through the list to see the rest of the Team's projects for this month:

Hope you enjoy our hop this month.  Be sure and come back next month on the 25th for new inspiration!

Please stay healthy and safe during this pandemic.  xoxo

Krafty Chicks Challenge #508 - CAS (Clean & Simple)

Hello Thursday!

This week has flown by.  It's been a very soggy, cool one here in Cary, North Carolina.  It has mostly rained, I mean poured, for the past 3-4 days.  We have needed rain since we had a very dry, mild winter.  It would just be nice if it was spread out more.

Since it's Thursday, there's a new challenge beginning at Krafty Chicks Challenge.  Tangii is our hostess and the theme is CAS (Clean and Simple).

I'm sharing a Mother's Day card I made using a background I created a while back.  I stamped the flowers in Versamark and white embossed them to create a border and then watercolored the background.  The center was perfect for a nice sentiment.  I layered it on a purple cardbase and finished it off with a few clear gems.

Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Team's CAS projects as well as our Guest Designer's, Laurie.  Then come play along with us!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #507 - Christmas

Good Morning!

It's time again for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge.  It's the 2nd week of the month so I am your hostess and our theme is Christmas.

My card uses. the stamp set, Fluttering Friends, by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I stamped the "holly" in Aquatini (CP Ink), masking off the berries.  Then stamping the berries in Rockin' Red(CP Ink) along with the extra berries I fussy cut for the bird to hold.  The bird I stamped with CP Midnight, then colored with a blending pen and Rockin' Red and Samba(CP Ink) inks.  The sentiment is from the Tiny Wishes set (CP Designs) and stamped in Rockin' Red as well.  I adhered the panel to a cardbase that I inked the front edges up with Aquatini.
Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Team's stamping projects and welcome our May Guest Designer, Laurie!  Then come play along with us!

Spring Card Camp 2 - Day One

Hello again.

I signed up to take the Spring Card Camp 2 at Online Card Classes.  It started last Wednesday.  So, of course, I'm a week behind sharing my creations each day.  Hopefully I'll get caught up before another week.  lol

Anyway, the first day was about Masking.  I used the Wings of Joy butterfly stamp by Catherine Pooler Designs once again. I actually used the butterfly die, cut it from masking paper, used the negative to mask off everything but the center. of a cardbase front for a single layer card.  Then, I used a blending brush to blend Flirty Fuschia, Tiki Torch and Tiara inks by Catherine Pooler Designs.  Next, I stamped a few small stamp images in Versafine Black Onyx around the edges of the wings.  I finished off the card with a sentiment from Shine On Sunflowers set also by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Fluttering Blessings!

More Mom Cards...

Happy Tuesday!

I'm trying to share more cards I've made lately.  I've been creating more than posting.  These are more Mother's Day cards I made for some of Dave's healthcare coworkers to give their moms.

Butterfly Moms

Happy Monday!

I believe my mojo is finally back for a while and I've been taking advantage of it.  Woohoo!  I just haven't had time to photograph or post the results much.  So I'm taking a little time now to do that. This trio is Mother's Day cards I made for my mom, Dave's mom and Dave's stepmom.  I almost didn't send them I loved them so much I wanted to hold on to them a while longer.  Do you ever do that?  Just want to hoard your creations? <wink wink>  Anyway, I did not hoard and they all got them before yesterday.
I used the Happy Butterflies stamp set and Wings of Joy stamp/die set by Catherine Pooler Designs.  They are part of her newest collection, Flutters & Blooms.

The first one, I used a piece of a watercolored background piece I've had in my stash waiting for the perfect card for it.  It has blues and purples with flecks of gold splattered all over it.  So I stamped and embossed my butterflies with WOW Gold Fine emboss powder and then using Grape Crush, Pixie Dust, and Aquatini with water and a watercolor brush.  I set the background on some gold foil cardstock and a scallop border frame and adhered it all to a light blue cardbase.

Next one I used the same inks and buttefly set.  I also used the Garden's Edge die and the Painted Stripe background stamp stamped in Sweet Sixteen with gold foil cardstock separating the two.  The sentiments are from the Thoughtful Phrases set and they were stamped in Grape Crush on cardstock inked with Sweet Sixteen.  I finished the card off with a strip of gold foil cardstock and aqua enamel dots.

The last card I used the Wings of Joy die actually to  cut the butterfly from a background I stamped a while back from the Doodle Garden background.  I used letters from      the Funky Alphabet set and stamped them in versamark on top of the butterfly and then embossed in WOW Gold emboss powder.  I stamped the other sentiment in Sweet Sixteen ink at the bottom corner of the panel. Then, I took a piece of the striped background I had stamped before and put it under the white panel at the bottom.  Lastly I added some Paisley Park sequins.

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day.

Be healthy, safe and sane!

Mom Blessings!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #506 - Stamp Act

Good Morning!

It's Thursday AGAIN!  Boy, quarantine or not, the days are flying by.  It's May already!

There's a new challenge up today at Krafty Chicks Challenge and Leanne is our hostess with the mostest!  Being the first week of May it our Stamp challenge.

(must have stamping on card)

I don't know about you but a lot of times I get inspiration for my cards from other things in my home.  Today's card is like that.  I created it using inspiration from a throw pillow on my bed.

I used a REALLY old cat stamp by Fiskers or Inkadinkadoo, it's so old I can't remember.  The puddle is a paint splotch stamp by The Kitchen Sink and everything else if from the March Club Sursee kit by Catherine Pooler Designs.

Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Team's stamping projects and welcome our May Guest Designer, Laurie!  Then come play along with us!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #505 Anything Goes

Hello Thursday!

This week has seemed to fly by even in Lockdown.  Spring is at least alive and well in North Carolina and the pollen down.  Had the windows open the last couple of days and it has felt wonderful!  I just wish the low humidity and mild temps would stay all through the summer, but alas, we are in the south and that won't happen.

Anyway, it's the 5th Thursday this month and that means one thing at Krafty Chicks Challenge, the Anything Goes Challenge!  I'm hosting too!

I am sharing a card I made for a Stamp Nation penpal.  It's bright, colorful and cheerful. We all need lots of bright colorful cheerfulness right now.  I used pattern papers, a rainbow die and word dies by Catherine Pooler Designs.  The stitched scallop border is by Avery Elle I believe and the heart dies are Sizzix.

Be sure and stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the Design Team's projects.  Also, check out Bobby, our Guest Designer too.  It's her last week with us. She has shared such fabulous projects over the month.  It's been a thrill to have her!

Keeping Christmas - April 2020

Good Morning!

It's April 25th, which means it's the day for the
Keeping Christmas Blog Hop.

This is an inspirational Christmas blog hop full of Christmas cards, tags, bags, other Christmas paper projects to inspire you throughout the year to help you get in the  mood to create Christmas cards all year round so by the time Christmas comes, you have quite a stash already made and ready to sign and mail.

I thought it would be fun to create Christmas cards with a non-Christmas stamp set.  So, I used a new stamp set from Catherine Pooler Designs' Monthly Club Sursee, Fun Forest. The sentiment is from "Driving To The Holidays" by Flora and Fauna.  I created five cards in five different color combos, including a couple that could be used for masculine cards.  Once I chose my color combinations and layout, it really didn't take that long to create these. The card bases are Neenah 110 lb Solar white inked up by swiping the ink pad along the edges.

Now, hop through the DT list below and check out all of the wonderful festive cards by the team.:

Hope you enjoy our hop this month.  Be sure and come back next month on the 25th for new inspiration!

Please stay healthy and safe during this pandemic.  xoxo

Krafty Chicks Challenge #504 All Occasions

Good Morning!

Wow, it's Thursday already!  This week even in quarantine has flown by too fast.

At any rate it's time for a new challenge at
Krafty Chicks Challenge.  Lori is our hostess this week and the theme is All Occasions!

My card is a birthday card I made for our youngest son who turned 26 a couple weeks ago.  He loves nature and hiking and lives in California so this was perfect for him.  Everything is by Catherine Pooler Designs, even the ink.  I love how this turned out.

Be sure and stop by the Hen House and see Leanne, Lori, and Tangii's projects along with our Guest Designer, Bobby's.  Then come play along this week and create a card for a special occasion, whether it be birthday, thank you, get well, etc.

#SpreadJoyNotGerms Official Blog Hop

Good Morning!
Today is a special day.

  It's the #SpreadJoyNotGerms Blog Hop!

This is the creation of Catherine Pooler of Catherine Pooler Designs and Alexandra Stapleton-Smith of Hedgehog Hollow to spread some joy during this very challenging time we are all experiencing.  I'm so thrilled that Catherine invited me to be a part of it!

The purpose of the blog hop is to share happy cards to spread some smiles and give inspiration to others to send their hand made cards at this time.

This is an amazing blog hop with 31 sponsors offering more than 50 prizes and over 150 bloggers participating in this hop!  The complete list can be found on Catherine's and Alexandra's blogs.

That is a lot of blogs to hop but, the more you comment, the better chance to win! The prizes will be randomly drawn from all the blogs and all the comments. Some companies are offering discounts and freebies as well!

When Catherine invited me to join the hop I had been working on some cards to give to my husband's coworkers so I am sharing them on this hop.  My husband, Dave, is an ER nurse at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Many of his coworkers usually buy my cards throughout the year. Yet, now I thought they need the cards themselves and I needed to let them know they're appreciated for all the hard work and sacrifices they make all the time but especially right now. So, I'm purging much of my stash to make sure every one of the staff gets a card.  There just happens to be about 265 ER staff!  More than my stash. So I asked Bonnie Klass, as well as Catherine, for any extra cards they had in their stash to add to mine.  I also received a small box full from a fellow Stamp Nation member, Jill Duplessie.  I am so thrilled for Dave to be able to walk into the ER with arm loads of cards for everyone!

Now here are my cards for today---
I have had the Folded Hug stamp by Trinity Stamps for a while and this is a perfect time to use it.  I stamped it up in CP Midnight ink and then matched it up with various dies, patterned paper, and ink from Catherine Pooler Designs to get six different looks.

The above card was made with a cardbase of Sand Dunes with a small layer of striped patterned paper from CP Designs Fresh & Fruity.  I also used the Sending Hugs die by Trinity Stamps and cut it from the same striped pattern paper as well as two white cardstock ones to bump it up.  I did this on several of the cards. I colored in the leaves and hearts of the sentiment with Catherine Pooler Inks - Mardi Gras, Tiki Torch, Be Mine and Samba.
Above, I started with a white cardbase of Neenah with patterned paper from CP Designs Fresh & Fruity.  The rainbow patterned piece from the Totally Rad pack was cut with the Skyscape mini cover plate.  I used CP Inks Lime Rickey, Be Mine and Fiesta Blue for the sentiment.
The third one I used the CP Designs Throwing Confetti Cover Plate atop midnight cardstock base.  I added a Midnight CP Designs Postage stamp die under the sentiment rectangle. I used the Sending Hugs die again on this card with the striped pattern paper from Fresh & Fruity.  I colored the sentiment with Lime Rickey and Be Mine.
This rainbow background I sponged a while back with CP Inks and it was just waiting for the perfect card.  I cut the HUG(Trinity Stamps) from the center of the panel where it would be hidden by the sentiment panel.  I cut two white HUGs also to bump it up.  CP inks used: Tiki Torch, Orange TwistFlirty Fucshia and Grape Crush.  I cut the Skyscape die from Midnight cardstock to layer under the sentiment layer.
Next I decided to make my own stenciled background using the CP Designs Bear Grass Stencil. I tilted it and brushed on Mardi Gras Lime RickeyTiki TorchBe Mine and Samba. I used a white CP Designs Postage stamp die for the middle layer and I used another striped cut Hug bumped up with white layers.
For the final card, I used more of the striped pattern paper from Fresh & Fruity for my background and the "hug". I made Midnight borders around both layers.

The next blog for you to hop to from here is Anita Madden
If you get lost on the way, you can always head back to Catherine Pooler Designs or Hedgehog Hollow for the full hop list.

The Deadline to enter is April 24 for prizes.
Winners will be announced on Monday, April 27 on Catherine and Alexandra's blogs.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and be sure and leave a comment.  And, why not send someone a Happy card today and be sure to #SpreadJoyNotGerms!

Blessings!
