Krafty Chicks Challenge #531 - Anything Goes!

Good Morning!

Today is a special day!

We are celebrating the 10th Birthday of Krafty Chicks Challenge (originally 4 Crafty Chicks at the inception)!  WOOHOO! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHICKS! Along with this celebration, since it is the 5th Thursday of the month, it is also our Anything Goes Challenge.

Below is my card for the ATG challenge,  a slimline card I created for double duty for this challenge and for my Sept PenPal at StampNation.  I just love those little critters!

I wasn't a part of Krafty Chicks (actually 4 Crafty Chicks in the beginning) until November 2016 so below is a "blast from the past" card that I had created in September 2010 on my first blog: "Snap, Scrap & Dazzle".  It was a birthday card for my hubs:

Lordy, going back and looking at those cards from a decade ago, WHOOEY!  It's like looking at old school photos from your childhood and sometimes you just cringe.  LOL. It was fun, though, to go back and then see how my creativity has evolved(hopefully). No comments on that needed, mind you! hahaha 😒😉

Now, as always, with the Anything Goes challenge you may create whatever your creative heart desires and we will select three winners. AND, as part of our birthday celebration, and because we appreciate all of our participants who join in the fun with us weekly, we will select 3 EXTRA winners by Random.org.  These three lucky winners will receive a few crafty goodies as a prize, because what's a birthday without gifts?

So be sure and stop over at the Hen House and check out Leanne and Lori's projects from now and 10 years ago and also our Guest Designer's, Cheri's.  This is Cheri's last week with us as October winds down.  It's been a blast having her Guest with us and sharing her fabulous creative talent with us!

Finally, we still have our DT Call going on as well!

If you think you'd like to join us, please send your crafty resume along with 3 of your favorite creations that you feel show off your talents to 4craftychicks@gmail.com by 12 pm MST on Wednesday, November 4th...we look forward to hearing from you!

Recycled Teenagers

 Hello!

TGIF!

I have a card to share today.  Not to brag, but today is my birthday and I share my birthday with three childhood friends.  I always make them birthday cards.  This is one of I made. Not saying for whom because they may be late getting to them. (Postal service these days, ugh).  I used the challenge from the Less Is More challenge for the layout of my card. AND THEN forgot to link it up to the challenge! 😕

I used a Golden Girls image (Blanche) by Kindred Stamps and colored her with Copics.  The balloon dies are by Lawn Fawn cut from inked up cardstock using Catherine Pooler Designs.  The scalloped stitch die is by Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is by Riley and Company. The DP is Garden Party by Pebbles.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #530 - All Occasions

Good Morning!

Boy are these weeks flying by!  Everytime I turn around it seems like it's Thursday again!  So with that said, it's time for another challenge at Krafty Chicks.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #530 - All Occasions

I recently got to spend a day with Bonnie Klass, stamping and catching up.  Of course we were masked and across the room from each other. It's good she has a BIG craft room with two long tables! LOL. I think we spent as much time chatting and catching up as stamping.  This pandemic has definitely proven how much human contact and relationships are key to all of us. When you've been mostly home with the same people for months, it's nice to have someone else to visit.  Hopefully we will be able to do it again in the near future.

Anyway, I borrowed one of her new Stampin' Up stamps and made several backgrounds, including this one.  I came home and created this card by adding the stitched square window, sentiment and dragonfly and then affixed it all to a blue background and green cardbase.

Be sure and check out Leanne and Lori's posts and our Guest Designer, Cheri.  ALSO, this week we are having a Design Team Call!  We are looking for a 4th Chick for the Hen House!  We mostly like to just have fun and create.  There are some duties you have to abide by, like commenting, hosting challenges, picking winners, etc. Go to the Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog to get all the info on what the role entails and how to apply. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, November 4th at 12 pm Mountain time.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #529 - CAS (Clean and Simple)

 Good Morning!

Wow, Thursday crept up quickly once again! I can't believe it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks already.  I'm hosting again this week and the challenge is CAS.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #529 - CAS (Clean and Simple)

I had started one card and things kept going and going until I decided it was not CAS.  So, I had to start over.  I used a background stamp and sentiment by Sugar Pea Designs.  I stamped the background with InkOn3 No Line ink.  It gives a nice soft, subtle look all on its own.  I die cut a stitched circle for the sentiment and stamped some leaves that came with the sentiment set around the edges.  I set it on a krafty cardbase.

Now check out  Leanne and Lori's blogs as well as our Guest Designer's, Cheri.  Come play along with us and create anything you wish as long as it is CAS.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #528 - Christmas

 Hello Thursday!

It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks Challenge.  I'm hosting and it's our Christmas challenge!  Come play along with us.  There's not too many more weeks before Christmas will be knocking on our doors!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #528 -Christmas

I got together last week with my fellow Cary crafty friend, Bonnie Klass.  We shared new stamps and dies and spent a day stamping and gabbing, as we do when we get together.  It had been at least four months since our last crafty day.  Anyway, she had this beautiful Christmas tree stamp and I did several of them in various ways.  This one I gold embossed. I also decided to color in the open areas with my Prismacolor pencils I've not used much.  After coloring, I sparkled it up with a Nuvo glimmer pen.  The sentiment I embossed in gold on vellum.  I placed the panel on some gold foil cardstock and then on a black card base.  It really shimmers a lot in real life.

We have a new Guest Designer, Cheri, this month.  Be sure and check out her blog as well as Leanne and Lori's blogs.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #527 - Stamp Act, Week 1

Good Morning!

Hello October!

Who else cannot believe it is already October?

It's also Thursday and time for a new challenge over at
Krafty Chicks Challenge!

Leanne is our hostess.

(must have stamping)

I decided to get a Halloween made.  I used an old stamp set by Stampin' Up with the owl, spider, pumpkin bag along with others. I still love it.  I used an orange watercolored background that was sitting around and stamped the "ghoulish" word stamp by My Favorite Things on it in Orange Twist ink by Catherine Pooler.  I placed a black Cobweb mini cover plate die cut in black on top of it.  I then adhered the whole panel on a black cardbase embossed with a spider web emboss folder by Sizzix. The images were stamped in Grape Crush, Orange Twist and Lime Rickey, die cut and set on top. Lastly the sentiment by Ellen Hutson was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white on a black strip and popped up with foam tape.

Stop by the Hen House and see Leanne and Lori's projects and our October Guest Designer, Cheri.  Then why not ink up some stamps and play along with us.  You have until Wednesday, Oct. 7th at Noon, MST.

Did you know Christmas is just three months away? THREE MONTHS!

Have you started your Christmas cards?

Well, whether you have or not, come hop with us and see some holiday inspiration!

I have four cards today.  Actually, two pairs.  I tried out a new-to-me technique of Stamping Faux Monoprint.  Jennifer McGuire has a great tutorial on her blog.  Here are two I did and turned into cards.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #526 - All Occasions

Good Morning!
It's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge today and I'm your host.  I normally host the Christmas challenge, but I had surgery earlier in the month and so Lori and I switched hosting.  Today is our All Occassions challenge.  That means birthday, get well, thank you, sympathy, etc.

I created this card for my Stamp Nation penpal.  I've had this stamp by Lil' Inker Designs for a while and finally got around to coloring it.  I love all those kitties.  I chose a rainbow color scheme for them and then left all the accessories white.

Please stop by the Hen House and check out Leanne, Lori and Robyn's projects.  It's Robyn's last week with us so make sure and give her some blog love!  Then come share an All Occasion card with us this week!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #525 - CAS (Clean and Simple)

Good Morning!

I've been ahead everyday this week.  I have to keep reminding myself today is Thursday, not Friday!  Guess it's wishful thinking.  I've been discombobulated for a week.  I'm blaming it on "post-surgical brain". That's a thing, right? LOL

Yet, because it is Thursday it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge.

My card is all stamping today.  Last month's Stamp Nation Penpal theme was CAS so this fit both CAS bills.

Please stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the team's projects.  Then come play with us and share a Clean and Simple card with us!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #524 - Christmas

Hello there!  I cannot believe it's already Thursday.

First a holiday on Monday and then I had surgery on Tuesday so I'm all kinds of turned around on my days!

Yet since it IS Thursday, it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge.

I had some leftover background of the shaving cream technique backgrounds I used last month in another challenge.  So I cut out trees for this week's challenge.  I place them on a sponged blue background with a couple stitched die cut snow hills framed in a wonky stitched rectangle frame.  Then all of that was adhered to a circle background stamp by Hero Arts stamped in Twilight ink from Catherine Pooler Inks.  The sentiment is also from Hero arts and inked in Something Blue CP ink.  I added some clear sequins from Crater Lake sequins by Catherine Pooler.

Stop by the Hen House and see Leanne and Lori's projects as well as our Guest Designer, Robyn's.  Then come make some Christmas cards.  Christmas is inching closer and closer!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #523 - Stamp Act

Hello!  It's Thursday once again!  It's also the first Thursday of September.  Time for our Stamp Act challenge at Krafty Chicks with Leanne as our hostess.

I used the multi layer stamp set, Vineyard, a Hero Arts Color Layering Heroscape set for my card today.  It was really fun playing around with the set.  I stamped about six different color combos with it to see what I liked best.  Everything on here came with the set --- background, trees, buildings, balloons, sentiment.  It's really a cool set.

Please check out the other Chicks' projects at the Hen House and welcome our September Guest Designer, Robyn.  Give her a warm welcome!  Then, come play along with us, just remember this week you must have stamping on your card.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #522 - All Occasions

Hello Thursday!

I've been quite discombobulated this week and I cannot believe it's already Thursday.  I recently reorganized my craft room with some new furniture so been cleaning out a bit as I go as well.  And I just learned this week I have to have some knee surgery in two weeks so the hubs and I are trying to get ready for that.  I 've been hobbling around for two months and just got the diagnosis of a torn meniscus. While I'm glad to know what's wrong and be pain free very soon, I'm not looking forward to surgery.  At least the surgeon promises me my recovery will only be a week or two and no bulky brace or crutches.

So, it's been a hectic time.  Anyway, let me get to business at hand ---- the new challenge is up at Krafty Chicks Challenge.

I made another slimline card using another background I made by ink swiping.  I sent this to my younger brother for his birthday in July.  He lives near the beach in SC so I thought it was appropriate.  I stamped everything in Midnight ink for a silhouette effect.  The compass image I stamped off and then stamped on my background to get a fainter look.

This is our last challenge for August so be sure and check out my fellow teammates' projects and our Guest Designer, Michele.  It's her last week.  We've been thrilled to have her guesting with us with her fabulous cardmaking style.  Come play along with us too!

Keeping Christmas Blog Hop August 2020

Good Morning!

It's August 25th!

It's time for the Keeping Christmas Blog Hop.

Four months until Christmas!  WOW!

I've been reorganizing my craft room this month.  I discovered I have A LOT of paper!  Not just printed paper pads but handmade backgrounds as well.  So, I decided I'd start trying to pare down this stash of mine.  So today's cards are made with background papers I created a long time ago.  They were created with the shaving cream technique.  I took some tree dies and stamps by My Favorite Things and created some bright and cheery cards.

Please hop through the list below and see what the rest of the Team has created this month for Christmas inspiration.  If you haven't created any Christmas cards yet, it's going to be here before we know it!
