Hello there! 

I am late getting this post live.  I thought I had done this post and the next before I went on a two week vacation but just discovered I did not.  And, I brought home more from my vacation than I bargained for - a cold that just got worse and worse up until late yesterday. And thankfully it was nothing more than just a cold, confirmed with 2 negative Covid tests. Today I feel mostly human again and almost back to normal post-vacation routine.

It's Monday again!

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend!  

The Hubs and I spent the weekend traveling to Sedona Arizona, where we will be for the next two weeks for a very much needed vacation. The Red Rocks of Sedona are as gorgeous as they were four years ago, the last time we were here!  Looking forward to some hiking, eating good food, more hiking and lots of relaxation in between!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #560 - Winter Fun Week 2

Happy Monday!

It's Week #2 over at Cupcake Inspirations for our Winter Fun Challenge. I've made a different card for this week.  I used all Catherine Pooler Designs products again also.  This snowman is just itching to get on the slopes and maybe hit some moguls!  LOL

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #560 - Winter Fun

Happy 2023 Ya'll!

Well, for the Salkelds it's already been an eventful year!  One cat visit to the vet already.  One Hubs with bronchitis (thankfully that is all it is) and a leaky ceiling! 😒 That's 3 so putting it out in the universe that we've hit our quota for the year already!

The background is the Swirling Snow background by Catherine Pooler Designs stamped and white embossed. The skate and flowers are all from the Let's Go Skating stamp set, also Catherine Pooler Designs, stamped in Sparkling Berry, Cove Blue, Tranquil, Spruce, Wintergreen, and Sand Castle inks by Catherine Pooler.  I embossed the sentiment (from same stamp set) in white also.  Very fun!

Poppy Stamps Guest Designer - Gift It!

Hello there!

Happy December!

I have exciting news!

I'm the Guest Designer this month over at Poppy Stamps!  I was so thrilled when Michele Henderson asked me to guest. I love me some Poppy Stamps! 

The theme for this month is Gift It!

I chose to make some tags/ornaments with some wooden chalkboard painted ornaments I've had in my stash and Poppy Stamps dies.

I had such a fun time creating these.  The first one (below) I used a Poppy Stamp poinsettia die that I have had for a while and is one of my favorites.  I also used the new Joy Freestyle Script die, which I really love! I'll be using that a lot from now on! 

The second one (below) I used the new Pine Needle Shoots and made a snowy white wreath and the Joy die cut from some blue foil cardstock I had that I glued on top of two white ones to bump it up on the wreath.  I finished it off with some white pearls here and there and a silver string.

The third and final one (below) and probably my favorite of the trio I made using the new Iced Pine Trees.  These were so much fun to cut and glue together.  I may have cut more than I needed in MANY different colors that will definitely be great for future projects! 😉 On top of the trees I adhered the sentiment, the new Small Freestyle Merry Christmas die, which I cut twice in white and once in that magenta glitter cardstock by Memory Box.

So there you have my three wooden tags/ornaments that were just simply a blast to create!  I want to thank Michele, Jeanne and the entire Poppy Stamps team for having me this month as the Guest Designer.  Thank you!

CIC #557 Owls Reminder

It's another Monday.  

They sure come around fast don't they?

It's also the 2nd week of Cupcake Inspirations current challenge --

I have had a very chaotic last couple weeks so unfortunately I don't have a new owl card to share this week, just the same one.  

Last week we found out our Lab, Ellie, has a torn ACL and has had to be confined as much as we possibly can manage, which includes having to take her outside on a leash everytime she has to go and sometimes having to carry her down the stairs to get outside.  It's been a  exhausting trying to keep a 60 lb hyper Lab quiet and off her feet! On top of that, our granddog, Jack, arrived last week for a 3 week stay while his human parents are vacationing in Europe part of that time.  We are contemplating calling our place the Salkeld Canine B&B as Jack has been a frequent visitor over the last six months.  LOL. We really do actually love having him here.  The cats, however, may have a differing opinion. 😉
