Celebrate - The Challenge #68

Happy Monday!

Time for a new challenge
at

As you see, it's a color challenge this week!

Love that color combo!
That photo also reminds me of Mary Engelbreit products.

Check out how all the Design Team used those beautiful colors:

Weekly Guest Designer---Sheri Gilson from Paper Crafty's Creation

Make sure to leave each one of my fabulous teammates and our guest designers some blog love!  We love comments too!

For my card I did some watercoloring, stenciling and sponging ---
I finally was able to watch all the stenciling videos in the Stamp Nation Stenciling class and decided to do some myself.  I stenciled on top of my watercolored background and then I moved the stencil around a bit adding some extra little squared circles inside some of the larger ones.

I used Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberries distressed inks for the watercoloring, the sponging through the stencil and also to create paper for the butterflies.  The top layer of the butterflies is an ombre effect. The sentiment, Celebrate Artsy and stencil, Square Dance from Stamplorations.  If the sentiment looks a little messy, it's suppose to be.  ;) The butterflies are Impression Obsession and the banner is Paper Sweeties.  I finished off the card with a few silver sequins.

I had a blast using this bright color combo!  Now it's your turn to 'WOW' us and link up your color inspired project in the Inlinkz on Lesley's blog!

Thinking of You - The Challenge #67

Happy Monday!

Well, it's almost over, I'm sooo late with my post and card this week!

I had family in and out last week to visit.  There was lots of eating, visiting, playing with my 2 yr old niece, and a little March Madness (Go Tarheels), so not much room for stamping!

But, better late than never,
so here is the new challenge for this week
at
The Challenge:

Check out all the Design Team's projects,
fabulous as always!

Weekly Guest Designer---Christine from Poppaea Cards

Here is my card --

I decided to flip the sketch for my card.  I used flower stamps from Simon Says Spring Flowers set. I stamped them with versamark and heat set with white emboss powder.  Then painted them with my Twinkling H20s and fussy cut them. I die cut some brown woodgrain paper and stamped and embossed the stems.  I stamped the sentiment with some Rich Cocoa ink on turquoise cardstock.

Light of the World

Good evening!
I'm finally getting a card created for the new
and also

It's only taken me til the very last minute before it's due!  LOL

Better "almost" late than never, right?

I started out with some watercolor paper and a yellow egg die cut from a card gone awry!  I lightly taped the egg to the watercolor paper and then saturated both with water and then brushed on some yellow watercolor. After it dried, I took a darker yellow and flicked it on top and then dried it.  My plan was to lift off the egg so there would be a white egg underneath, but I didn't tape it down enough and some paint oozed underneath.  So, plan B --- kept the egg on.  I stamped the sentiment (Taylored Expressions) in green ombre ink from Hero Arts using my Misti.  I lifted off the egg and stamped it again so all the words would stamp well.  I cut the panel and then placed the egg back on.  I die cut the back panel with the stitched scallop die Sunshine Die pack from WPlus9.

I used stamping, watercolouring and die cuts for my card.

Easter Blessings!

Flights of Fancy --- Crafty TBT #5

Crafty TBT!

I haven't posted a crafty Throwback Thursday for a while---

This is a photo card I made about five years ago.  The photo is one I took at the NC Museum of Art outdoor art trail about four or five years ago.  I added the digital sentiment from Create with TLC.  It's matted on a black background and white cardbase.

Hello Spring - The Challenge #64

Good Morning Monday
and
Happy Spring!

Yesterday was the first day of spring,
but it sure didn't feel like it
in North Carolina!

A little cold snap came through
making for a very chilly day!
Brrrrrr!

But it is now spring --- YAY!

Today there is a new challenge
at
The Challenge!

Take anything you want from our
Inspiration Photo to make
your project!

Look at those wonderful bright, springy colors!

Check out what the Design Team has done for
added inspiration:

Monthly Featured Designer --Anita in France
Weekly Guest Designer---

Here is what I created---

My image is a digital stamp, peonies, from Power Poppy Stamps.  I thought it was just gorgeous!  My dad loved peonies!  I colored them with pink and orange gelatos. green for the leaves, mixed with water on water color paper.  I added some gold Wink of Stella and Diamond Stickles to the centers.  The sentiment I cut from white foam, gold and black cardstock.  I was going to keep it gold at first but it just didn't show up too well so I stacked black on top and made it a little two-toned.  I layered some green patterned paper, dark coral, black and gold cardstock behind the image.  I wanted the image to have center stage.

Happy Thursday!

A new challenge is starting
at
4 Crafty Chicks!
This week is #290 -
Humorous

Everyone loves to laugh and chuckle so
we want to see your humorous cards!

This is my 3rd week Guest Designing
with the
4 Crafty Chicks!
I'm loving it!

I used a digital stamp from Hambo Stamps.  Are those "springy" bunnies adorable or what? I water colored them and the background.  I added a little glitter to their ears and bellies for a little fun bling.  The sentiment is a combo, part My Favorite Things, part Michaels bargain bin.

So, come play along with us and make us chuckle and laugh at your humorous cards!  Don't forget to check out the 4 Crafty Chicks' projects too and leave them some blog love!
