4 Crafty Chicks #385- No Winter Blues (No Blue)

Happy Thursday!

Well it sure warmed up here in central NC thank goodness!  Hope wherever you are you are at least warm somehow.

It's time for a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.

I'm hostess this week and  I want to see NO BLUE color!
Blue is a cool color, represents coolness/cold.  Since so many of us have been either freezing and snowbound or just freezing, I thought it would be good to create using any color/colors but blue.

Stamps: Hearts with words (Recollections).
Paper: White Neenah cardstock; black stripe patterned vellum (Die Cuts with a View); black cardstock (Bazzill).
Ink: It's a Girl, Mint To Be, Sweet Sixteen, Tiara (Catherine Pooler Inks).
Extras: Postage stamp die (Simon Says); XOXO die (Stamplorations); arrow die (Taylored Expressions); Love word die (Ellen Hutson) small heart die (Paper Sweeties).

With Valentines Day around the corner, I decided to make a valentine card free of blue.  I found a bag of candy word hearts in my pantry left over from last Valentine's Day and it inspired me to use an old stamp set I've rarely used of these hearts with love phrases.  I stuck to just three different large hearts (there are about six in all) and the smaller ones. I have to admit when I made the background I was at a loss for what else to do with the card until I saw the striped vellum on my desk and the black "love" word leftover from Christmas cards.  The rest is history as they say.

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the Team's projects.  Then come play along with us!  And remember, it's now Anything Goes all the time with a weekly twist challenge with this week's twist challenge being NO BLUE.

Seasonal Delight

Good Morning again!

It's the 10th of January already!  I'm having a productive year so far, just not crafty wise.  So I thought I'd kick myself in gear more by sharing a card I haven't posted.  It's a Christmas card but better late than never.

I made this card for the December Penpal at Stamp Nation.

Stamps: Sentiment (Stamplorations); Snowflakes (Mama Elephant).
Paper: Watercolor paper. Light blue cardstock; White glitter cardstock.
Ink: All That Jazz, Flirty Fushia, Pixie Dust(Catherine Pooler Inks).
Extras: Tag Die (Cas-Ual Fridays); Stitched scallop frame (WPlus9); Deer (Poppy Stamps); Wow white emboss powder; light blue ribbon.

I Llama Wish You...

Good Evening (almost Good Morning)!

I have a couple posts to share.

One is a birthday card for my nephew.

I just adore that llama by Gerda Steiner.  I thought he would be fun popping out of a gift box.  So I used the box die from Neat and Tangled and stamped some streamers by Wilma and Walter in the background.  I totally forgot to photograph the inside before sealing it up and mailing it.  My bad.  Anyway, inside I stamped a great big Happy Birthday sentiment.

4 Crafty Chicks #384 - Dies/Punches with a Twist

Happy New Year!

It's a new year
and
there are some new things going on at
4 Crafty Chicks!

First, sadly, Tamie decided to step down from the Hen House at the end of last year.  She is going to be greatly missed!  We wish her all the best in her new endeavors.

So now we welcome a new chick --- Amy Ottmers at AO Creations!  So glad to have you in the Hen House.

More news ---- we have altered our challenge a bit.  Starting today, every 4 Crafty Chick challenge will be Anything Goes with a Twist.  The Twist will be the actual challenge.  You can choose to play the "Twist" or just enter the ATG.  To be a challenge winner, you do have to participate in the Twist part of the challenge.

With that said, let's get onto this week's challenge!  Leanne is our hostess and our theme for the week is:

Stamps: Sentiment-Hero Arts.
Paper: Neenah White cardstock. Watercolor paper. White glitter cardstock. Gold vellum; Gold Foil sheet (Stampin'Up).
Ink: Versamark; Distress Oxide Inks: Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Fossilized Amber, Picked Raspberry.  Distress Ink: Black Soot.
Extras: Star Confetti Die(Hero Arts); Boy on moon die (Hero arts); Stitched Dome die (My Favorite Things); Clustered hearts die (Stamplorations); WOW white emboss powder.  Sequins (Hero Arts), Gold String.

Remember, you can play our challenge from now on as Anything Goes.  BUT if you want a chance to win, you must play the Twist.  So this week you would have to showcase dies/punches in order to be a winner.  Otherwise, enter whatever you like and share it with us, just make sure it is a new creation.  We love having you play along!

4 Crafty Chicks #382 - Tags

Happy 1st Day of Winter!

It's a balmy 50 F here in the Triangle of NC.  So not exactly a winter wonderland, more like soggy and damp after yesterday's rain.

Today is Thursday
and
so you know that means

a new challenge
at

Tamie is our hostess this week.

She has chosen our theme ---

I made several and they came in handy preparing packages to go out in the mail.

Stop by the Hen House and see the rest of the team's projects including our Guest Designer, Karola!  Then come play along with us.  Your tags don't have to be Christmas.  They can be whatever you want.

Are you ready for Christmas yet?  Luckily we are finally pretty much ready.  Our oldest son and wife are flying in today.  We saved the tree decorating to be done with them and our youngest son, so that happens tonight.  Then, lots of celebrating can commence!

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas (just 5 days away) and Happy New Year!

How crazy is that?

I am NOT ready.

I am ready, however, to share another project for

25 Days of Christmas Designer Blog Hop!

I used the stamp set, Merry Little Christmas for my card.  I stamped with Versamark on watercolor paper, embossed in gold then colored with Zig markers and water.  Then used a gold fine sharpie to add some detail around the gifts.

4CC #381 Christmas/Winter Critters

Good Morning!

It's Thursday and that means ---

a new challenge is up at 4 Crafty Chicks!

I'm the hostess this week and I'm late to my own party!  GAH!

If that's not bad enough, there are still no decorations up in our house yet, not even the tree.  So we've now gave ourselves a deadline to have everything decorated on the 15th.  That's tomorrow!  We shall see if it happens.  lol

Now on to the present challenge of the challenge that I'm hosting---

I have to admit I'm a sucker for cutesy little critters on Christmas cards.

Here is my card
I used a llama from the stamp set, Little Llama, by Pretty Cute Stamps.  I colored him with Zigs and Copics.  I added some Wink of Stella to the hat, scarf and snowflakes.  I colored around him with Copics and stamped a few snowflakes by Mama Elephant.  The background is a plaid stamp by Catherine Pooler stamped in Fiesta Blue ink by Catherine Pooler.

If you haven't already, stop by the Hen House and see what my fellow Chicks have created and our Guest Designer.  Lots of more adorable critters to see!

Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series - December 2017!

Good Morning!

Happy 2nd Day of Hanukkah!  It's also just 12 days before Christmas.
Are you ready for either?

Today is Plan Your Life Series
at
Paper Sweeties!

The Paper Sweeties Planner Team is sharing their December planners.

Here is my planner:

As you can see, there's a lot going on this month.  Hahaha.  Right?  Like no one else's planner is packed!  That's why I kept mine fairly simple.  I was going to say "neat" but it isn't that "neat" and "tidy" I'm afraid.  I wrote out some important crafty dates on the left side and messed up.  So thank goodness for washi tape!

I have to admit too, we still don't have our Christmas decorations up.  However, I do have 98% of my shopping done!  So here I am again, another holiday season and less prepared than I have ever been.  Funny thing, I'm not even stressed about it.  I must be in holiday denial or something.  LOL . That's ok, because I don't want to wake up and all of a sudden in a panic.

Check out the rest of the Team's planners below:

Check them out!

Nancy Salkeld (You are HERE)

Don't forget our 25 Days of Christmas Designers Hop is still going on through Christmas Day!

And come play in our monthly Inspirational Challenge that lasts through December 31st!  Link up your projects and share them with us!  We love having you play along!

4CC Challenge #380 Monochrome

Good Afternoon!

I'm sooo late with my post for today's challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!   We were out of town over the weekend and first part of this week.  I still have my fall decorations up.  It's 18 days until Christmas and exactly two weeks before our kids come to visit! I have at least purchased a couple gifts but otherwise have done no shopping, including groceries.  If I weren't behind I wouldn't know how to function I think!  lol But, better late than never, right?

Leanne is our hostess this week
and she's chosen the theme ---

Let's see one color projects!

I needed a couple Hanukkah cards, so I decided to go all blue on this one.

Stop by the Hen House and check out what my fellow Chickies have created and welcome our December Guest Designer, Karola too!  Then link up your one color cards and play along with us!
