Happy #24 Anniversary!

Good Monday Morning!

I have a special post this morning!

Today, the Hubs and I celebrate our 24th Wedding Anniversary!

June 9, 1990

I made this special card for him:

SPIES

STAMPS: Sentiments - 1st Three (Hampton Art); Sentiment "Together" (Fiskars).
PAPER: White and teal cardstock.
INK: Turquoise (SEI).
EXTRAS: Flower emboss folder (Cuttlebug); Rose die (My Favorite Things); pearl strings; pearl gems.

I know it's a little froo-frooie for a guy, but he won't mind.  I'd been trying all week last week to figure out what kind of card to make him.  Then, the challenges at Colour Me and Muse kind of helped me along!  Colour Me's color challenge is "coastal cabana", kind of a turquoise color.  And, over at Muse, the "muse" card has a lot of turquoise also.  And, turquoise happens to be the color we had in our wedding ---- turquoise and white!  Perfect!

For the Muse challenge, I chose to kind of reverse things, putting the "stripes" or my cake layers, on top along with my sentiments.

For Following Challenges:

The Hubs is off work today so we have an action packed day ahead of us to celebrate.   Kayaking, swimming, a movie, dinner, then dessert (homemade s'mores with gigantic marshmallows) on the patio tonight.

Anniversary Blessings!

Take It Easy

Happy Sunday!

In the Christian world, it's Pentecost Sunday!

So, if you are Christian,
don't forget to wear Red today
 to represent the
fire of the Holy Spirit.

Then, get ready to get your craft on

with another spectacularly "sweet" challenge

at Cupcake Inspirations!

This week our sponsor is

Thank you for your sponsorship!

A generous prize will be offered to our randomly selected winner.

Today's challenge  is a color challenge:

CORAL  ~  POOL  ~  BANANA

Inspiration Photo Compliments of Clever Little Cupcake Company

For my card, I used the image "Pinata with Coffee"

I'm still slightly lacking in coral patterned paper it seems and almost lacking in the cardstock area as well.  So, after pouring over my DP stock, I went with a non- patterned paper card.  With the distressed rectangle dies and triangle embossed border, I tried to emulate the shape and texture of the pinata.  I borrowed the sketch from the Fusion Challenge and used three of the borders, one in each color. The final touch of enamel dots are homemade from plastic beads melted down.  Such an easy peasy, inexpensive alternative to the somewhat pricey store bought kind.

SPIES:
STAMPS:  Digital Image - Pinata with coffee (Fresh Brewed Designs); Sentiment "Take it Easy" (Lawn Fawn); Dad word (Inkadinkadoo).
PAPER: Coral, Light Blue, yellow cardstock.
INK: Wicked Black Archival Ink (Colorbox); Copics on image.
EXTRAS:  Distressed rectangle die (Spellbinders); Love Triangle emboss border folder (Cuttlebug); Enamel dots (homemade from plastic beads).

Pomp & Circumstance

June in NC means end of school and with that, graduation.  I made this card for Hubs' colleague for her daughter's high school graduation.  The digital image is from Saturated Canary.  I colored the hair/eyes to match the actual graduate and also matched the gown color to the school color (burgundy).  It was also requested to have the graduation year on the card too.  So, I made kind of a reverse banner at the bottom corner with the year. You can't tell in the photo very well, I added red Stickles to the tassle and the top of the hat.

SPIES:
STAMPS: Graduate Girl 2012 (Saturated Canary); Sentiment & numbers-High Five Grad (Raisin Boat); Flowers (Inkadinkadoo).
PAPER: White cardbase. DP - Kneehighs (BasicGrey).
INK: Copics for Image; Lagoon, Rose Petal, Lemon, Red Grape (SEI).
EXTRAS: Basic oval die (Spellbinders); Stitched rectangle mat (Lil Inker's Designs); Small banner die (Taylored Expressions); Banner pieces (Spellbinders); pink lace ribbon; Bubblegum seam binding (Paper Sweeties); pearl gems; Diamond and Xmas red Stickles.

Happy Tuesday!

It's time for another

Here is the inspirational photo:

Is that a great inspirational photo or what?

A great photo to kick off the first month of summer!

Take a look at who are our wonderful sponsors this week:

Bugaboo Stamps --- Prize is 7 Digis

AJ's Digi Shoppe - Prize is 2 Complete sets of stamps or 4 Sets of paper.

Dilly Beans Digi Stamps - Prize is 3 Digis.

A big thank you to all of them!

Here is my card for some inspiration:

SPIES:
STAMPS: Beach Baby 2 (Bugaboo Stamps); Sentiment (Paper Smooches).
PAPER: White & Red cardstock; DP - Summer (American Crafts).
INK: Copics on image.  Black (Colorbox).
EXTRAS: Scallop circle die (Spellbinders); Basic circle die (Spellbinders); Cloud die (Taylored Expressions Rainy Days); Teal chevron ribbon; red baker's twine; red heart button.

I chose one of the Bugaboo Stamps, Beach Baby 2, offered to the team for my card.  Isn't she adorable?  She was perfect for my card as this is our second summer to have a pool and I've been excited to swim again.  It's not huge, but big enough to swim some laps, water walk, water aerobics and even just chill and cool off.  We've been having lower than normal temps, though and so the "cool" off part is pretty darn COLD! But temps will be climbing in the 90s later this week so I can't wait!

Anyway, I digress, back to my card.  I colored the image with Copics, added some diamond Stickles to the water drops and Glossy Accents to the sunglasses.  I made a peep hole from the background paper and set the image behind it.  Then placed the scalloped circle die on top.  I cut a cloud die to make the sentiment tag that I tied to the chevron ribbon and then added a heart button.  I decided to keep the card fairly clean and simple to focus on the image.

Don't forget to stop by the {PIN}spirational Challenge blog and check out the rest of the Design Team's fabulous projects.   Then, using the photo for inspiration, link up your own project and play along with us!  We love to see your creations!

Inspirational photo compliments of:  Riviera Bakehouse

Robyn's Fetish was generous to give the DT some digital images to play around with.

Here is my card using the sunflower image:

SPIES:

STAMPS: Sunflower Image (Robyn's Fetish); Sentiment (Lil Inker's Designs).
PAPER: Pale yellow, olive green and white cardstock. DP-- old from my stock.
INK: Copics on image; Tuxedo Black.
EXTRAS: Flower dies (Lil' Inker Designs); leaf flourish (My Favorite Things); Oval border die (Spellbinders); black gem dots.

I can't believe this is my first post in the past two weeks. I took last week off from DT duties as I just could not find time to get into my craft room.  I finally got my laptop upgraded thanks to my son and had to do some maintenance on it so it would run better.  And, we've been very busy spring cleaning inside and out.  Our backyard and patio were looking pretty sad after the winter.  So, had to get in gear to get ready for some summer barbecues and swims.  We had our pool set up three weeks ago, but the water was still pretty chilly.  Then, last Sunday we decided to get in anyway.  It was still down around 72 degrees.  That's a tad cold!  Brrrr!  Then, the pool pump goes! geesh.

So, while waiting for the pool to improve, I've finally been able to have some crafty time!  Yea!  My craft list is long and I'm hoping to get a lot of it crossed off this weekend!

Make sure you stop by the Cupcakes blog and check out the rest of the Design Team's fabulous projects.  Many of us have used the same image but just look at all the different interpretations of it!  Really great!

Then, link up your own flower project to share with us!  If you are our lucky random winner, you will get 3 free digital stamps of your choice from Robyn's Fetish!

My card is entered into the following challenges:
