Celebrate With Winnie

 Well Hello there!

It's been a very, very long time since I was here!
Did you miss me?

I'm thrilled to be back! I've been recovering from hand surgery on my dominant hand since June 4th.  It's truly been the worst and most frustrating recovery I've ever had.  I believe now I'd prefer any other surgery than hand/arm surgery. I pretty much lost total use of my hand for the better part of two months. Gradually I've gained back function but still struggled with strength and some fine motor skills.  And then, last week I had a relapse with pain and some function of my thumb. So unfortunately, as this post goes "live" I will be on my way to the outpatient surgical center for a 2nd surgery! UGH! At least it won't be as extensive this time.  Just a little tweaking my surgeon says and then it should be good as new.

I have missed my cardmaking soooooo much and even with the relapse, I managed to do a little crafting last week, even getting a day of crafting with Bonnie last Friday! Besides catching up and having lunch, I did alot of die cutting and gluing. I'll be sticking to die cutting, possibly stenciling and solid stamping with my Misti for a while still.  It took 9 weeks for me to be able to just hold a pen and sign my name, very poorly too.  So watercoloring or coloring with markers is still questionable.

If recovering from surgery weren't enough, we also lost my Father In Law in June as well, after spending several months traveling back and forth to SC to help with him before his passing.  It's truly been a challenging summer for both my hubs and myself.  Not having my cardmaking for therapy has not been helpful either.

So I'm very happy I've managed even something simple for today's new challenge at Seize The Birthday! I've missed the team and creating for the challenges.

Today, JoAnn is our hostess and

for the Topping she wants

NO Stamping - Die Cuts Only!

I've had this Winnie the Pooh die (Spellbinders) for a about a year now and I decided to break it out for this week.  I had the watercolored background in my stash.  I took the "celebrate" die and cut it from the black border. Then I glued the border to the background, placed the word die back on and ran it through my Big Shot again to cut the rainbow word then glued the rainbow one on top of the black word die and placed it back on the border.  Added a red balloon and some colored gems.

Of course, if you're not into the Topping, you can still play along with our Anything Goes Challenge, just make sure it's Birthday themed!  Hope to see you in our gallery!  And be sure to check out all the Team's creations as well as our Surprise Guest, Lynda!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Come back soon!
