Here's my card---

I love this cutting plate from Taylored Expressions sooo much!  For today's card, however, I used it as a stencil.  I cut out the plate die onto chipboard to have a fairly sturdy stencil (hoping I can resuse it a few more times).  Then, I sponged on Night of Navy, Bright Blue and Pear Tart dye inks.  I layered it onto a panel of navy, then of grey before putting it on a white card base.  I used sentiments from Paper Sweeties and My Favorite Things, stamped them in Night of Navy on a vellum cut banner die from Paper Sweeties.  I set the ink with clear emboss powder and heat gun.

Now, show us your paper project inspired by our colors this week!  We love being inspired by you as well!

Wish You Luck!

One more card for today---

I found a new (to me) stamp company/blog, Power Poppy Stamps.  They have some awesome stamps, both digital and clear sets!  I bought a couple digital stamps to play with to see how I like them.  This is one of them, called Wish You Luck.

I printed it out on watercolor paper and then used my watercolors on it.  I kept the card pretty neat and simple to showcase the beautiful image.  I thought it was a perfect image for The Card Concept, where I think my card fits nicely in the Clean and Graphic Style, and Curtain Call challenges.

Luck & Blessings!

Spotted Butterfly Birthday

Good morning!

Another post for this fine Thursday!  Make sure you check out my Guest Designer Post for 4CraftyChicks just below this one!

So, this card was suppose to be a double duty with last week's Color Throwdown, but I just didn't get it finished in time.  As you see, I used the sketch at CAS(E)thisSketch #162.

The middle panel is actually a tag die I flipped.  I cut one out of white cardstock and one out of the fushia pink clear plastic sheet.  I set the sentiment die, from Paper Smooches and butterfly, from Impression Obsession, on top.

Stained Glass Easter- 4 Crafty Chicks #289-7 Layers

Happy Thursday!

I'm Guesting again over at 4 Crafty Chicks!

This week's challenge ---

#289 - 7 Layers!

Think you can pile 'em on?
Well come play along with us and give it a try!

When I saw what this challenge was, I couldn't help think about the 7-Layer Salad my mom used to make and I make.  It's sooooo good!  Lettuce, onion, green pepper, peas, bacon, shredded cheese and the best part ---- the sweet/sour mayo dressing!  YUM!  Now I'm going to have to make some!

But I digress, here's what I created ---

The perfect challenge for my new supplies --- Stain glass cutting plate and cross die from Taylored Expressions.  I loooove the combo together.  The stained glass plate has a cross in the middle, but this other stand alone cross looks gorgeous with it too!

The color around the outer border of the stain glass is actually a reflective/mirror gold cardstock.  The photo doesn't do it justice.  I took a couple other pics hoping to pick up some of the gold.

The middle cross is also cut in the mirrored gold as are some of the small flowers around the wreath.  The wreath die and flowers are from WPlus9, another new acquiescence for me, as is the sentiment die from Penny Black.

The background or "stained glass" part behind the cutting plate was made with Brushos - mostly orange but a bit of yellow and red also.  Then, I sprayed it with some gold Color Shine by Heidi Swapp.  I also used some of the rest of the background to cut the orange flowers.

So, you have the card base (1), the gold layer (2), the Brusho layer (3), the cutting plate (4), the gold cross and wreath (5), the larger orange & gold flowers (6) and the smaller orange and gold flowers (7)  --- 7 Layers!

I've just fallen inlove with my card!  LOL So much I had to go get some more gold mirror cardstock to make some more of them!

Now, go check out the 4 Crafty Chicks' Design Team's 7-Layered projects for more inspiration, then play along with us!

Eggstra Sweet - 4CC Challenge #288- Guest Designer!

I've had a secret!....

I'm a Guest Designer
at
for the whole month
of
March!

YAY!

I'm so honored and so excited to be designing alongside these four talented chicks: Tamie, Lori, Leanne, and Tina!  Lori and I are former teammates from The Pink Elephant and I'm so thrilled to be able to design with her again!

This week ---
Leanne is our host

and she has chosen the theme:

Easter!

It's just around the corner you know!
(But seems like I just put away my Christmas tree)!

I love Easter, the religious meaning behind it of course.  My dad was a minister, so it was a busy time in our house as at church.  Yet I also love all the spring-time colors and the symbolism of rebirth and renewal. The flowers and trees wake up from their winter naps and bloom so vibrantly and smell so good!

And then there's the Easter bunny and Easter baskets filled with treats and fun!  I used to love having Easter Egg hunts at both my grandparents' homes after church.

Of course, you're not interested in my trip down memory lane, but it's a nice segway to my card, which involves, flowers and eggs and chicks ---

I wanted to make something springy, colorful and fun!  I chose papers from Doodle Bug's "Hello Spring" and used stamps from Taylored Espressions "Hello Spring".  I colored the image with Copics and Specturm Noir markers. The sentiment is Jelly Bean Time set from Paper Sweeties and the flower popped up is from Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes by Paper Sweeties also.  The banner die is Reverse Confetti and the scallop border die is Taylored Expressions. I finished it off with a sparkly white enamel dot in the center of the flower.

So, go check out the 4 Crafty Chicks' projects, leave them some blog love and then share your own Easter project with us.  YOU might be the next Golden Egg Award winner!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge- March 2016

Happy Tuesday
&
Happy March!

It's the 1st day of the month and you know what that means!...

Lots of good  "hot" stuff going on in that Inspiration photo and just love that color combo!

Here's my take on this month's Inspiration Challenge:

Since this month's inspiration challenge goes along with our newest stamps, Debbie has allowed us to preview them today.  I also used the floating hearts from the stamp set, Be Happy.  I colored some of them in with blue and red water color pencils.  And I used the tag from Sweet Cuts Stitched Tags #1 and cut out the middle.  The heart die is from one of the new sets.  Those sweet little sugar cubes, I versamarked, embossed and then cut out with coordinating die to pop them up by the cup.  And I finished it all off with some tea stained blueberry seam binding also from Paper Sweeties!

I haven't done chalkboard for a while, so I decided to do one of my chalkboard signboard cards.  I think they're really cute and a fun twist on a regular card.

Now go check out the rest of the PS Design Team's projects!

Won't you also join us this month and play along with the challenge, linking up your projects inspired by our Inspirational Photo!  Play as many times as you like, with different newly created projects.  You might be our next awesome winner and Guest Designer!

AND --- don't forget to check back on March 12-16 for the new Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Release (March 12) and Paper Sweeties Stamp and Die Set Release Party (March 13-16)!
