Krafty Chicks Challenge #544 - Any Occasion

 Good Morning!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks.  Lori is our hostess for our last challenge of January.

I made this card for my nephew whose birthday was in December.  Chalk it up to my brain to forget he was ACTUALLY 17 not 16!  LOL. He appreciated it anyway and the giftcard that was inside.

I used a stencil and Catherine Pooler inks to created my background.  The balloon I die cut from some alcohol inked glitter paper I created a while back and cut a 16 from gold foil cardstock.  The number dies are Catherine Pooler and the balloon die is by Lawn Fawn.

Be sure and check out the rest of the Design Team's projects over at the Hen House and also our Guest Designer, Sandy.  It's her last week with us.  Give her some blog love.  It's been a joy having her!

Splattered Thanks

 Hello there!

I have a non DT card for you today.  I've been creating bits and pieces of cards and now getting around to assembling them.  Lately for me, that's a looong process!  Anyway, I'm on the last day to enter for the CAS Mixup Challenge.

Here's my card:

I used some new inks by Catherine Pooler to create a splattered background along with a splatter brush and some water.  Then, I cut die cut the leaves, Catherine Pooler also.  I used the Scallo[s Panel Die  by Waffle Flower (which I won on a Instagram draw from them) to create my back panel.  However,  I off the top and bottom of it after stamping the sentiment in Mardi Gras.  I added a back layer of green cardstock to enhance the green of the leaves.

For Following Challenges:

Stamping, Ink Splattering, Die Cuts

Krafty Chicks Challenge #543 - CAS (Clean & Simple)

Good Morning!

It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks!  It's week #3 so that's our CAS (Clean & Simple) Challenge.  AND, our host is our new CHICK, Diane!  YAY!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #543 - CAS (Clean & Simple)

For my card, I made my background a while back using the ink pad swipe technique.  It's so easy and quick to create a colorful background.  The stamp (wreath and sentiment) is by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I stamped it in Midnight and then took a blender pen and used the same Catherine Pooler inks I used for the background to color in the flowers and then used green for the leaves.  Added a few sequins and done!

Check out all my fellow Chicks' projects at the Hen House.  Such talented ladies always have beautiful things.  Then come play along and play with us and support our new Chick in her first challenge!

I decided to create a New Year card for my first card of this year and our challenge.  The sentiments are all from Papertrey Ink.  The party items are by Stamplorations.  They were stamped with Catherine Pooler inks.  The glass and the horn were colored with a gold pencil.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #539 - All Occasions

Good Morning!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Can you believe it?  ONE MORE DAY! WHOA what a year!

Anyhoo, it's also Thursday and there is a new challenge at Krafty Chicks today.

I'm not sharing a Christmas card today. I have a birthday card instead.

I took December off basically from creating to spend time with my family and since the Hubs was working dayshift and light duty after his surgery in November.  I tell you, when you're used to your husband working nights for 20+ years and then he goes to dayshift for a month, it's a big change.  My routine was completely thrown off!  He is now back to his regular nightshift duties in the ER this week.  My routine is still off.  LOL

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the Chicks' project. Then take some crafty time for yourself this week and play along!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #538 - CAS (Clean & Simple)

 Good Morning!

It's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge today.  Leanne is our hostess.  It's our CAS week.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #538- CAS (Clean & Simple)

I've had this panel sitting on my table for months and decided to put it to use finally.  It's a stamp, stamped in Versamark then embossed with white powder.  Then I used Zig brush pens to color the flowers.  The sentiment is a die cut I cut twice in white cardstock and once in watercolor paper.  The watercolor one I smooshed with Grape Crush ink by Catherine Pooler.  Next I stamped it in Versamark and used some purple emboss powder by WOW.  I kept the rest simple using just hues of purple for the background.

Come check out the rest of the team's projects including our December Guest Designer, LeAnne Pugliese.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #537 - Christmas

 Hello!  Good Morning, Thursday!

It's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge today. I'm your host this week!  Our theme this week is Christmas!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #537 - Christmas

I made another card with the alcohol inked holographic cardstock backgrounds I made several weeks ago. I really love that technique.  So easy and leaves such a beautiful effect!  I left this fairly simple so the colors would stand out. The background and sentiment die is by Catherine Pooler.  The tree frame is Memory Box.

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the Chicks' projects including our Guestie, LeAnne Pugliese. Then come play with us and finish up your Christmas cards!  It's just two weeks away!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #536 - Stamp Act

 Good Morning!

Happy Thursday!

This week sure blew by quickly! I made a list last week for this week of things needed done and I got two checked off.  All my Holiday shopping is now DONE!  Took me three days online but it's D-O-N-E, DONE! LOL    So now I can concentrate on decorating and stamping, not in that order, maybe.

Of course today there is a new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge, which is why you're here.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #536 - Stamp Act

It's the first Thursday of December, so it's our "Must Have Stamping" challenge.  You must have stamping on your project.  Below is my card, another slimline birthday card with a snarky sentiment by Riley and Company.

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the team's Stamping projects.  Also welcome our December Guest Designer, LeAnne Pugliese from Weeinklings.  So happy to have her with us this month!

Keeping Christmas Blog Hop - November 2020

 Good Morning!

Today marks ONE MONTH before Christmas!  YIKES!  Even in a pandemic this year has flown by. Anyway, being November 25th means the final Keeping Christmas Blog Hop for 2020!

I started out with one project and then after seeing Jennifer McGuire's recent alcohol ink technique, I changed it up.  I love this technique particularly on holographic cardstock!  I made many backgrounds with this technique but I'm only showing two cards today.

The photos don't really do them justice.  They shine and glimmer IRL much more.  Now hop along the list below to see the rest of the Design Team's projects:

Krafty Chicks Challenge #534 - CAS (Clean & Simple)

 Good Morning!

Today is Thursday and so it's time for a new challenge at Krafty Chicks!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #534 - CAS (Clean and Simple)

I created this card with a Prickley Pear acorn stamp that I colored with Copics.  I trimmed thin strips of colored cardstock in yellow, orange, brown and green to create the background.  The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs and stamped in Icing On The Cake ink by Catherine Pooler.

Stop by the Hen House and check out the rest of the team's CAS projects.  Then come join us!

Thankful 4 Caffeine

  Good Evening!

Actually I guess it's "good morning" at least on the East Coast.  I'm squeezing in a card for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.  And I guess it counts for a day of coloring too at The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

I got this cute coffee drinking turkey recently and wanted to ink him up.  I colored him with Copics and then fussy cut him out.  For the background, I inked up the Leaf Burst stencil by Altenew, at least half of it so Mr. Turkey could feel a little more colorful.

I love that turkey and I think caffeine is something many of us can be very thankful for particularly this year!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #533 - Christmas

Good Morning!

Happy Thursday!

It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks Challenge.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #533 - Christmas

My card began with the background.  I had been doing some stenciling and as always, I smooshed the leftover ink on my mat onto watercolor paper.  I added some white paint splatters to it also. The Evergreen frame is by Memory Box.  I used a WOW embossing pen to parts of the trees and base and sprinkled on some Sparkling Snow embossing glitter by WOW.  The church is part of the Alpine Village stamp set by Catherine Pooler Designs.  I stamped it in Versamark and embossed with Pure White embossing powder, again by WOW.  I did that a couple times.  Then I stamped it in Versamark again and added the Sparkling Snow Emboss Glitter.  I did this a couple of times also.  The lamppost is part of an old Stamp Of Approval Christmas set, "Here We Go A Caroling", stamped in Hero Arts Soft Granite.  It was also embossed with Sparkling Snow emboss glitter.  I cute the birds from blue watercolored paper.  The sentiment die is from Die Versions.

This photo shows the glistening of the snow glitter better.

Stop by the Hen House and see Leanne and Lori's projects and of our Guest, Claire.  Then come join us and get in the holiday spirit and make some Christmas cheer!

Color Throwdown #619 - Guest Star Stamper

 Good Morning!

I'm so thrilled to be participating this week as the Guest Star Stamper over at Color Throwdown.  I was pretty surprised when I saw my card as Featured Stamper for Challenge #617.

I'm also excited because this week's color combo happens to be one of my favorites, especially for Christmas cards!  Here's my card...

I created my card using all Catherine Pooler Design products.  I started by masking off the Swatch background stamp and stamping it on white cardstock in Rockin' Red ink also by Catherine Pooler.  I created my stocking with a stocking die, cut from watercolor paper smooshed with Aquatiini and Fiesta Blue CP inks.  The fur I created by inking cardstock with Versamark and then embossing with bright white WOW embossing powder.  I reinked and added a layer of White Puffed Twinkle, reinked then added WOW Glisten and reinked a final time and added Wanderlust.  All emboss powders/glitters are by WOW.

Next, I inked up the candies from the CP set, Sweetest Season in Aquatini, Rockin Red and Versamark (embossed with silver embossing powder).  I cut them out with the coordinating dies and then glued them to the back of the stocking.  The sentiment I cut three times, twice from silver mirrored cardstock and once from white cardstock and glued them together.  A bit of a process, but sooooo fun to put together!

Once again, THANK YOU COLOR THROWDOWN Ladies for having me as your Guest Star Stamper this week!  Be sure and stop by the challenge blog and check out the Design Team's projects and then link up your own project inspired by this week's colors!

Color Throwdown Blessings!
