Favorite Fall Treats

Hello there!

Are you ready for a new challenge at Seize The Birthday? It's time!

AND I'm hosting this challenge, my first since joining the STB Team a couple months ago.  I'm excited.  It also happens to be my birthday today, so a double celebration for me!

I had to choose the Toppings theme as part of my hosting gig and I chose Favorite Fall Treat.  If you've been to my blog recently, you know Halloween is my favorite holiday besides Christmas and Fall is my favorite season besides spring.  I love the cooler weather, leaves turning and sitting by a fire outside.  I also have fond memories of falls as a teen, our church youth group would spend a Saturday picking apples at a local orchard and then making apple cider on the church parking lot with an old hand turning cider press made by one of the church members.  I think the most fun was picking the apples as we got to climb the trees too.  We would bottle the cider and sell it to raise money for a trip or charity.  We would always end the day with pizza and a small bonfire with marshmallows. Oh, the days gone by.

SO, the Toppings is Favorite Fall Treat, which can be anything - a hot beverage, apple pie, pumpkin pie, smores, etc.  I chose apples/apple cider for mine.  I still love a mug of hot cider with a cinnamon stick or maybe a shot of Fireball Cinnamon whiskey too!

If you're not a Toppings kind of crafter, there's our Anything Goes challenge as well, just make sure it's a birthday card.  Stop by the STB blog and check out all the other scrumptious cards created by the rest of the Design Team and our Party Guests!

Such a gorgeous card Nance! Love the pp, colours and texture. I've never had hot cider, but I'd liked to! Thanks for a fun Topping:)

Before I forget happy happy birthday. I enjoyed reading about your wonderful memories of fall that you've had with your church group. This was a challenge for some people but I thoroughly enjoyed it as it brought back memories from our recent trip to Ireland. As you can see that's where I went with my card. I think your card displayed your memories very well. Thanks for the challenge

Oh, Happy Birthday Nance, hope you had a great one. Thanks for the fun topping and I love your take on it with your cute card of apple cider and a basket of apples. Sounds like a great time you had with your church youth group as a teen. I used to love climbing trees also, many. many years ago. :)

I certainly hope you had a wonderful Birthday and we are the lucky ones to have you as part of our team. Looks like this card brought back some terrific memories of your childhood. I love the mix of papers and that apple stamp is just perfect! Darling card! I hope it is a full gallery but if not, generally this time of year people are focusing on Holiday cards. So don't dismay!

Nance, thanks for the fun challenge and Happy Birthday. I was up in Seattle for my aunt's 90 birthday on the 23rd. Great card to depict a lovely memory making apple cider with your Youth Group. Lovely card. Have a nice week.

I grew up with all of the things you love about fall too. Unfortunately we don't get that in Florida. We all went with beverages/pumpkins so it's delightful to see an apple theme. I really love your color scheme too.

I love where you went with your challenge, Nance! Mulled cider is a thing in the UK as an alternative to mulled wine - I like both ;)
